Well I'm starting to get my M400 dressed up now. Should be receiving my B.A.D. lever today. I was gonna go Magpul to keep everything on it Magpul but was reading reviews on it and ppl said they had issues with fitting it on the M400. I found another manufacturer called Tactical Link and the reviews from their products sounded promising and I could order it in FDE to match the rest of the furniture on the gun!:) I'll be installing it tonight after I get off work. I'd be interested to hear from any of you guys if you've had any experiences with this company and any other additions that would be good for the M400:)

lgustavus81 or multo17, either one of you put any kind of thread lock on the screws? Just curious, I did because I don't plan on ever removing the lever. I thought I read where this was recommended, for me also I'd hate to lose one of those tiny screws!

So far, with only 200 rds on the 516, no problems, still solid, & hasn't came loose without any loctite. However, if you put blue Loctite, I think it will be really stuck there till the life of your rifle. :)

Don't think I'll be running any 22 through mine:)...
...Well got a couple new parts in today!:) The wife just put on my new Zombie Hunter ejection port cover since im stuck at work!:) She was having a hell of a time so I was txting her through it...
Actually I'm not running any .22LR through my 5.56 barrel either, that CMMG .22 upper is a dedicated upper with a 1:16 twist .222 bored barrel & a chamber for .22LR only, not a conversion unit that you would stick in your 5.56/.223 chamber and then send down your 1:7 twist .224 barrel.

You should be proud of your wife, I swapped out the ejection port on my .22LR upper because I didn't like that hideous deflector with a half port door and of course I lost that %#@*! microscopic "C" clip and spent about an hour with a magnifying glass before I located it.

She did good! :D

Coming right along I see. Looking good. I think you will be waiting awhile to go Zombie Hunting though. LOL

You ain't a man 'cause you treat your rifle like a toy!!!

We're not calling them "toys" in blatant disregard of the weapons that they really are, mind you - it's just that this figure of speech seems to throw many panties in a bunch.
One of the reasons I dont frequent another forum site that I'm a member of. Called my 45 my toy and got called just about everything but a man! I told them it belongs to me and I'll use any damned term I want in reference to it!:)
Last time I checked I paid for the damned thing and I'll treat it how I please.
How quickly you forget!

I'm with you on this

If Anyone Deserves A Pistol...

You were quick to reply but you didn't cuss me out for calling your M400 a toy???

What the heck, I was only teasing anyway. :D

I had a Jewell 2-stage in my M400 but currently have a Geissele SSA-E in there now.

What a difference they make over stock! WOW!

I totally agree with your decision to get your wife a pistol before considering a trigger for yourself, I like her for helping you out with the ejection port cover AND finding that *@%#! "C" clip too! B)

There's a thread on here where someone had to fabricate one on his own, probably from two months ago.

M400 add ons

Guys,
A quick question from a 'newbie' (both the forum and semi auto long rifles)
Just bought an new M400 and need advice as to what red dot or similar sight to buy, reasonably priced to see over the fixed front sight. Other than adding this sight in addition to the flip down original iron sights, I don't intend modifying.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Regards

The Aimpoint micros are great optics, but if you want something less expensive that still delivers a pretty decent amount of quality, check out the Lucid HD7, Lucid M7, Vortex SPARC, and Vortex Strikefire.

My advice as a new M400 and rifle owner (new in September)....

S L O W
D O W N
A N D
G O
S L O W.

Don't make my mistake and jump into purchases prior to knowing what you REALLY want.

My example. Prior to buying the M400, I knew I wanted a red dot. Read/researched, and settled on the Lucid HD7 as mentioned above. HD7 is an outstanding red dot. But it is x1 magnification. Turns out for me, 50's yrs old, I can't use it past 25-50 yds. Soooo, why have it given our M400's are tack drivers at that distance with just the iron sights.

So, more reading/research. Settle on SigTac CD-4, get one for a great price. I've been running it for a few weeks. It is fixed x4 magnification. Thought I was ordering a 1-4x, my mistake. It is a fine x4 red dot.

Co-witness: HD7 works perfectly with iron sights co-witnessed right on the red dot. The CD-4, no. Rear flip down sights are fine set down, but my fixed front iron sight is in the way somewhat. Will need a mount to raise it if I keep it.

At the moment, I have no idea what I want. 1x, 4x, 1-4x scope, 3-9x scope.... I was at the range today in the rain (doesn't bother my MK25 one bit...) and 4x worked fine at 50, 75 and 100 yds. 100 was pushing it though (4 in 6 inch box, 7+ in 4 inch target box, 3 in 2 inch box).

I might the selling both the HD7 and CD-4 and getting a scope, we'll see.
I can't answer my own question: what do you want to do with the rifle? as yet.

I did see for the first time a video of a build where the red dot was on a mount that flips to the side. Interesting.
