I am wanting to replace the stock handguards that came with my Sig556 Classic, does anyone know where or if I could find a picatinny handguard set? The main reason I ask is that I would like to replace the front sight to a folding BUIS for use with a scope/red dot sight.

Are you looking for the "Fish Gill" type handguard set? If so, I have a new "take-off" for sale.

Neither of those support flip-up front sights. They do not have top rails, only side and bottom rails.

You will need a quad-rail, like this one:

You can Google "SIG 556 quad rail" and find a lot of places to order one. But they are not cheap.

yeah so far this is the cheapest option, the hardest part will be removing the hooded front site.

It's not as hard as you'd think. I've swapped from the flip-up Sig sight to the hooded sight - took me about fifteen minutes and some elbow grease.

Lol, that's part of what I meant that it's break the gun down take off the hand guard fiddle with the hooded site and remove two or three screws. The sight just takes a "special" tool to push the pin out. My wife said I can buy that one but I have to set money back for a few paychecks to do it. . Once I get it will post before and after pictures.

All it takes for the sight is an allen wrench and a pair of pliers.

Thanks for the intell LeRI that looks like it may be the better option. Now I have about a month or two to find a box big enough.

Well my wife came up with a better plan. I have been wanting to get more active and loose about 20-30 pounds. My wife saw me looking at the sig516, and asked if I was wanting one and I told her I would like one. So she came up with a good idea to motivate me, once I lose the weight that I want to I can then order the 516 and transfer the 556 to her. So the deal was made and she told me to take care of her gun for her until I get the 516, she's great.

yeah, her new stipulation is when we get it transferred to her name we have to look into getting it duracoated purple. Start my diet the next time i wake up from sleep, i don't think its going to be as much fun as i want it to be but i'm glad i finally have the motivation needed.

I also have a 556 classic with the Swiss style handguards. I really enjoy them but want to mount a foregrip but for some reason my handguards did not come with the pre drilled holes. I know I can just DDR el some but I am wondering if this is the standard way it is thing or is this a common issue.

Do you still have the vented tri-rail handguard for sale? Or does any one else?
