New guy with new 556

Howdy,

I just purchased a 556 for a duty weapon. As I was going through the owners manual, I noticed that it does not do a very good job of telling you where the weapon needs lubrication. Now I have had guns for many years and can probably figure it out myself, but thought it would be nice to have some illustrations with where this weapon system likes to be lubed.

Cheers,

Scott

New also

Yes- my manual just states generally lube moving metal parts and lightly coat
Exposed metal surfaces.

I only have it since last summer. I disassembled when I first got it and maybe two cleanings after. I do remember, after 100 rounds, it didn't need much cleaning.

Would be nice to have a lube diagram.

Have you fired your rifle ? Tell us about it. Did yours come with a fold down opt site ? Did you add anything to the rifle yet ? I ordered one last week Sig 556 16BCSRD Swat. I cant wait to get it and take it to the range.

It will be changing soon.
Different laser sights with flashlight. Also bi-pod.
Firing --- sure.
First out, I did have one stovepipe, and that was the only failure.

The Green laser you can see day or night. ( red is hard to see in the daylight )
It projects onto the target- like you see in the movies. (little dots on the bad guys chest) You can mount it just about anywhere.
There are combos-- laser, flashlights, strobe light. In red or green.

See: Viridian Laser X5L I have one on a Glock its OUTSTANDING

The Red Dot on top of rifle is just that. Its a dot, it does not project.
Its just like cross hairs in a scope, which can be moved up/down-right/left.

Hope I explained it better then in the message.
