Has there ever been a record of a crime committed with a suppressor or anyone charged because of a suppressor?

From what I gather going back to 2010 there were just a handful of crimes committed with suppressors but none were committed by legal gun owners with legally owned suppressors defending their home. I'll find the reference I think it was written by John Lott or Massad Ayoob.

Yeah using a suppressor would be something that an anti-gun prosecutor would get a woody over but you could articulate, to a jury, the need for a home defense suppressor. Hearing loss. As long as everything else was legal and the shooting was ruled in self defense. However, it could be a lot tougher if you had a suppressor installed on say your " truck gun", or bug out bag gun etc.

I have been harassing my senators and congressman about that Hearing Protection Act., but I'm out here on the left coast so it just goes in one ear and out the other. Oh was that a pun, hearing, ears...

(Col) Martin Fackler,, M.D. (inventor of Ballistic Gel and pioneer of the concept of terminal ballistics) when asked to estimate the

peritonitis.". (In layman's terms--you might get a nasty infection and die in a few days if shot with one.)
