Are 300 BO conversions running in MCX pistols

I have been doing some bolt rifle shooting for a little while and came back here to see that the 300 BO conversions are now in stock at the Sig Store.

I have the pistol in 556 and would like to know what you-alls experiences have been after converting the MCX 556 pistol to a 9" 300 BO set up.

Thanks for sharing.

Just got my handguard today so I'm going to try and hit the range soon to try out my 9" 300BLK barrel.

I'd appreciate hearing about the ease (or not) of the conversion and how well it works. It would be good to know how the gas system works for super and subsonic rounds especially with a can for subs.

Are you putting the conversion barrel on the pistol version? If so, did you have to buy a different hand guard for the 9" barrel?

Please be sure to report the type of ammo used and any differences in function with different weight loads.

Thanks agin for taking the time to make a report.

I bought the 11.5" 5.56 pistol with the Sig brace. Knowing that I was going to shoulder it (before the ATF's recent reversal on braces), I got a Form 1. I now have the Sig brace, skeleton stock, and folding/extending stock for it. It's also had the BCG recall done, 2nd gen charging handle and POF roller installed. Running with a SCo Omega suppressor (attached to SCo ASR QD flash hider). Only other additions are Magpul Pro BUIS, Aimpoint T2, EoTech G33, MOE-K grip and Geissele S3G trigger. For handguards, I've just received the 10.5" CF Lancer and 12" Sig handguards - both suppressor wide to be used with the 9" 300BLK barrel. Switching barrels is quick and stupid easy. I'll be mixing/matching barrels and handguards depending on use.

Haven't had any issues firing 5.56 to date (pre and post recall). 5.56 ammo has been exclusively 77gr SMK OTM IMI (I've got 5k rounds to go through - it's what my other rifles like). This is my first 300BLK so I don't have a stockpile of 300BLK ammo and haven't ordered the dies to reload my own yet. I shoot a lot of 308 and 5.56 so a natural fit to reload 300BLK. Going to test a bunch of bullet weights to see what baseline to start with.

That's a VERY NICE setup!

I put a Shockwave tube and brace on the folding hinge and really like the difference. IMO, the Sig rubber cuff is too big, heavy and unwieldy by comparison. I wanted to keep it in its pistol form so it can be easily sold and even transported across state lines. I did the BCG redo and will wait for the Geissele MCX Gen2 specific trigger to avoid the wear/damage some have reported here in anticipation of shooting this gun. It came with OEM iron sights. And Sig sent me a taper cap under the warranty so I can mount my AAC 7.62 can. Mine is still unfired/new as it was bought in anticipation that prices would sky-rocket if Hillary won.

I see the list price has gone up several hundred dollars despite her loss so the my price of $1460 now seems really good. I still have the new gun tag on the trigger guard and Sig wrapper around the grip.

I have other things to shoot but I am slowly setting up the MCX "just cause". Do you find a real difference after installing the POF roller? Do you have any wear issues on the S3G trigger? Please also let me know which hand guard you prefer as I'll need one to be able to use my can if I get the 300 BO barrel.

Keep reporting, as I think you are way ahead of the curve.
