Im fairly new to this site have posted about Sig 716 PRM, 3GH,DMR is this normal for Sig to say something is coming out and not have a clue as to what they are talking about. All I can get out of lgs is I have placed an order so if one comes in, you can get it. I called Sig and was told it was coming out 2/14 along with new catalogue to call back in Feb so I call today and they say call back end of Feb for catalogue. I said ok what have you heard on the DMR the guy said there is absolutely nothing in the works at this time maybe at the end of year. Are they freaking kidding me. I have two other pistols Ive tried to get for over a year and half. I finally said forget it. I sold two other rifles to support buy this rifle and scope now there is no rifle. *** do they just make **** up or what. Guess I will go with another manufacture that can produce a product. I really wanted that DMR, I guess I should have been sure of the product first. Very discouraged with this outcome.

They've been doing that ever since the "Precision Marksman" was introduced at SHOT of yesteryear.

I've wondered about this sort of thing as well. I am not sure if things are disorganized, or what I would assume is more likely, they can't keep up with demand for what is already in production, so although they announce and show hot new models at SHOT, etc., they continue pushing to produce what is already selling for them or may be backordered. With the long delays people keep describing, they must be running a solid backlog, even as things seem to be fairly settling down after all the latest round of gun control pushes.

SHOT Show is more of a trade show than a new product introduction. Buyers meet with manufacturers and place orders for products they believe they can sell. If enough orders are not placed, the product may or may not come to market. Actual product announcements are typically made at the NRA show or via other venues. I don't know of too many firearms manufacturers with as diverse a product line as SIG. They have models that fill niches I would have never imagined, some I just wonder - WHY? Please don't misconstrue my statements as apologizing for SIG, but rather, trying to clarify the intent of the SHOT Show. Sort of like CES, the auto shows held in various venues around the world and other industries. A way for the industry to gauge market reaction to items on the drawing board and whether or not to proceed full bore or maybe back off a bit. I've seen some things at the Detroit Auto Show that would make your hair curl and never see the light of day.

Sorry to hear you are in a bind with your rifle situation. I'm certainly not going to recommend any course of action, at this point. Too many variables that too few people fully understand to make a good decision regarding what may or may not become available in the near, and not so near, future.

Very nice. I'm still waiting on mine talked with Sig this week, They say its been sent off for testing and after that it will be 3 weeks or so. He said I will have one for sure within 45 days. This is for the new DMR they are showing on their web site. Still have not heard of definite price MSRP is around $2695- $2895 is what I was told, My LGS has had my money for almost 2 months so Im getting anxious for sure. They have a SKU# for it so, it is a for sure thing.
Was told there are several 3 gun heavy's out there at around 2200.00 or so

Lol I know what you mean. Have my first kid on the way and she has been all over me because all I do when I come home is look at gun porn. ;-). Did you have to do like others on here did which was to break it all down and clean it to get the heavy grease out? Some had FTE problems associated with that.

I did break her down and clean prior to first rounds.....it did have a pretty good coating of thick lube....after cleaning I went with Italian Gun Grease brand product, I used the "Tactical" lube in a spray bottle....it is about same consistency as CLP. They do make an actual grease which i have yet to use. Seems real slick, runs good with no issues yet. Definitely seems slicker than CLP when its on your hands.

Grip-pod, 45 degree offset buis, and flash hider next on list. Not going to to run a brake on this one...want to keep noise down.

Sounds like it's shaping up to be a screamer. What range are you looking to dial her to?

Nope still vapor ware. Looked up the product code last night and found a site selling it but it was back ordered. Didn't get into specifics but list was ~$3500 on sale for ~$2500. I am friends with Sig on Facebook and in one of the threads (believe the carbon fiber one) someone asked about the DMR and Sig announced that in a week an announcement would be made. That was about a month ago...nothing since

Gonna zero @ 200....then go from there....
We just got 22acres and are remodeling....the contractor said in front of my wife " I will be able to do those "other things" ,you wanted to do in that dirt work price".... she caught on and said ....your not building a "shooting thing".....I responded ....huh, he must be talking about the drive way.

Unfortunately its on top a hill with a valley view....no natural backstop.....tried to buy a old gravel quarry....but she would not have it.

U need to find out who the regional sig rep is, he can locate and tell you who received any of their products, and has them in stock. The lgs has to rely on a distributor under sig to get inventory.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.

I typically watch osagecountyguns.com as they usually get a healthy batch of new toys and posts them. I heard and saw the stock of the 3-gun heavy first from them. So I am eagerly watching for this. Doesn't mean I will get it as I have a kid on he way but a year ago I would have dropped a dime or two.

I just picked up my Sig 716 (DMR). Its no longer the PM They changed the name and thats about all I could find that was different about it. It shipped within 5 months. I was starting to get nervous but its awesome and worth the wait!
Im really glad to hear you have yours if it took 5 months mine should be here soon its been about 4 months, I received a e-mail from Sig the PM or PMR was only released to a few military and police units. Then it was discontinued. The DMR is a totally different rifle , barrel, trigger, sights, fore arm or rail, Was told this is reason it took so long to get this rifle out, It was totally re-designed and at factory test range with 185 grn lapua they are getting -1/2 moa at 100 yds. Good luck and happy shooting.

Hey fellas new to this site. Just picked up my DMR last week. Hope to get it to the range in the next few days. It really is a nicely factory optioned gun. 18" barrel, MIAD, UBR, Geisselle 2 stage, ambi mag release and safety and VLTOR CASV style rail system with raised top rail. Weird thing is that the boxes for the MIAD and enhanced butt pad were in the hard case.

Also not sure why Sig went with under rail gas block instead of the 3 Gun Heavy style in front of the rail. Maybe chasing a bit more accuracy somehow?

Seems as though they went with the "carbine length" gas piston vs the "mid length" gas piston (as in the 3 gun) From the history of pictures and e-brochures published by sig, this has evolved from the mid length system...at least from what I have noticed.

check out this video from Sig published just days ago about the 716 lineup...there is a patrol, a pistol and DMR.....NO 3gun.

Also, you will notice the carbine length gas piston on the dmr with basically a extension rod to bring the adjuster to the front of the rail.

GREYGHOST...please post a pic when you get yours.
