| Need some help w/ optics
I am looking for some kind of optic for my Sig Sauer 556 Classic. At this point I think I want a scope with a little magnification, and today I was at my LGS and they showed me a scope that had a built in red dot. Is this common? It seemed nice and looked really cool but It was on the pricy side. I need a starting point and any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance Trey |

TruGlo makes a fairly cheap red dot with only 2x magnification. It probably wouldn't hold up very long under real strenuous use, but for $80 it's a worthy little piece of equipment: TruGlo 5 MOA 2 x 42 Red Dot I'm curious, though: what kind of iron sights do you have on your 556 Classic? I like the hooded front sight and rear diopter so much that I have yet to find a scope that I think is so awesome as to be worth bypassing the iron sights for. Any small target within 100 yards - and any man-sized target within 250 yards - is toast. |

I have the stock flip up sight, and it came with the sig red dot. I however do not like the red dot. I may try to go with the folding sights. Thanks for your help. |

| Wait a second...the 556 Classic comes with fixed iron sights, doesn't it? If not, then I see why you'd want to upgrade. But the fixed sights that I have on my 556 were what I thought was standard on Classic models...

My 556 has a flip up sight that is recessed in to the rail, and that is it. I need to upgrade to a better set up. Any sights that I should look at?
