Sig Sauer says No More Bayonet Lugs on Sig Sauer Rifles!

Hmm, apparently some knucklehead at Sig Sauer decided that we dont need bayonet lugs on our Sig Sauer rifles anymore!
As if having the bayonet lug on there in the first place hurt anything nor did it interfere with anything, its just a stupid move to remove them and seems a bit feinstein/mcarthy/schumerish imho.

So now all new production Sig Sauer rifles will no longer use the gas/piston blocks with the bayonet lug attached, solid deal breaker for me as some of it is just the principle of the matter. I am done and switching to Colt as that is just bs, now I cant use any bayonet lug attachments purchased.

Not only do the Sig Sauer rifles now look completely neutered there will be no more attaching several components via the bayonet lug and so if you have purchased these items like I have they are now rendered worthless.

What a let down for no reason, thanks Sig Sauer way to go.
And to add to that Sig Sauer also dumped the very highly anticipated Sig Sauer 716 Precision Marksman rifle too.....

Called Sig this morning talked to Jay at customer service, They do monitor all Sig web sites and are aware of the discontent over the removal of bayonet lug. I explained it was not necessary for the use of bayonet but this was used for other attachments as well. And that I felt like we were giving up one more piece of freedom to the anti gun people, And that their first obligation should be to those who purchase their rifles, not political party's who are trying to take our rights away. Was told he would pass my concern along. I think writing letters and sending to HDQTR's would actually do more good. Mark each one Attn: CEO when 2000 letters end up on somebody's desk they tend to take notice. I had a concern and sent a letter this way, and was called back by Sig to resolve the problem. I was shocked and very pleased that they took the time to call me back and discuss problem. To me that showed a real concern for their customer and gained Sig mega points in my eyes.

I did not read the last few conversations before posting this, I had not realized the conversation had blown out of proportion, This is why the other side is wining, You have to remain calm and logical and polite, Otherwise you get written off and nobody listens. If it really bothers you try the letter and use your head about it. I personally think Sig has a lot going for it and they do care
