Anyone know how the 516 has been doing ? I know they had a recall for unknown reasons but haven't seen many reviews of the 516 anywhere. From what little info I can find , assuming people are telling the truth, there is variation looks wise so far with it. ???

Still saving my pennies for one .

Good question. I haven't seen any at the local gun shows yet. Would love to drop some cash on one someday.

I have a 516 that I have ran about 150 rounds through without issue. This weapon is very well built and runs flawlessly, which is a nice feature of SIG that we all know and love. The only thing that I really dislike is the fact that they provide you with the red dot and no BUIS on this beast of a weapon.

I am in California and just today I talked to the guys at my local Turner's Ourdoorsman and they are waiting for 516's to still arrive at their distributor. I am anxiously waiting for them to come in so I can purchase one.

Turner's has them for sale in their 2011 Spring Flyer. I called for a price and was quoted $1349.00.

The 516 was one of the two guns i was looking at when i decided to go with the 556, determining factor was the 556 was $300 cheaper and the site i ordered from was out of stock on the 516's

516 is back in stock...at least in San Diego. Also on sale at Turners for $1399 for the SCM with a red dot.

I pick up mine on Friday. First AR for me, in fact, first SIG although i have been coveting a few of their pistols for many years.

Looks very nice, looking forward to posting some feed back.

I finally got mine and put 500rds through it. first thing i noticed that it came with standard flip up iron sights instead of the red dot. o was kind of relieved because i wanted to change that red dot for my Bushnell trophy 1 x 32mm. it took only 20 rounds to zero it in the irons sights, red dot & the laser on the STOPLITE Foregrip at 20yds. i fed it three different rounds Federal .223 rem, PMC .223 and American 5.56 all 55gr and it ate them up like candy. Even though I'm still breaking it in I'm very satisfied with this gun. cant wait to bring it out to the longer range with 200yd mark. here a pic of my two Sigs.

Just got my 516 and have had it to the range twice for around 100 rounds. This is my first AR and I find the recoil very manageable. Sure caught the attention of the guys shooting!!!! My husband can't wait for the 716 now.

I've got one with about 700 rounds through it so far. I haven't had a single malfunction of any kind. Mine came with the Sig red-dot sight. I added an ARMS rear flip-up sight and Yankee Hill fonrt flip-up sight as well as a SureFire 6PLED and vertical fore-grip. If I benchrest it and throw a scope on it, it will shoot groups just over 1" at 100 yards with Federal XM193 ammo. With the red dot, the best I can do is about 3" at 100 yards.
