Sig Sauer M400

Looking to get an AR and Walmart is listing a Sig Sauer 400 sRP with scope. Thoughts or recommendations?

I seen those advertised in the weekly circular here in Texas. I find it to be a good price. I haven't heard anything bad about the M400 and just because it comes from Walmart doesn't mean that it is a factory second or reject rifle. They are the same quailty rifles sold at any LGS.
I feel that you can buy with confidence but that is just my opinion and I am not a professional by any means.

I can't offer any advice on the scope but I have had a M400 for about 5 months now and it has been perfect. I'm through probably 1000 rounds right now. No failures that I didn't cause myself. The gun is very solid. Gets dirty quickly but that will be true of any direct impingement rifle.

I picked up a flier in the sporting goods department there the other night. The lady who runs the store at night is very up on shooting sports. Comes from a shooting family. She's cool; we chat every now and then.

Anyway, saw that same gun and my eyes popped. Seems like a righteous deal to me. If the scope sucks,toss it or use it as boot in a trade.

I'd put it on my list, but a good 1911 is now in first place. That will be probably be my tax-return present to myself next March.

I am not a huge 5.56 shooter and already have the 551-A1,which has been a pleasant little workhorse, so I'd have a hard time justifying it. But for the money, it would seem like a great entry into the AR-15-style world.

I bought it and its pretty sweet! and the ammo its pretty cheap too... (in Walmart)

Got Wal-Mart price at Gander on M400Enhanced DI & couldn't be happier. The Enhanced is mostly magpul furniture which is nice, pretty, not necessary. But doesn't shoot any better than my '99 Bushmaster DI! I'm not a gas piston guy (please don't shoot!), took the $$ the 516 would have cost & bought an Eotech 512.a65 red dot which is very nice. That said, just as much fun shooting iron sights IMUO. Personally that's the sport of it mostly plinking..then again if scope fails iron sight skills would be critical if TSHTF! Just MUO.
