I am wondering how many rounds you can shoot, let's say out of a Sig 716, before your going to have to replace the upper?

I have no clue in this matter.

Too many variables to give a good answer. How hot is the ammo? How hot are you gonna get the barrel? What is your standard for acceptable accuracy? I would think the barrel accuracy would be the deciding factor, the Sig warranty should cover any other failures.

I am just looking for a normal range. Is there a number of rounds where your looking to replace? I am using all factory loads, can't say about the amount of powder, just the bullet weight is all I know, which is listed on each box.

Would it be closer to 10,000 or 20,000 rounds that your going to see the drop off in barrel accuracy? Or sooner?

If you are shooting Palma matches the useful life may be as low as 1,000 rounds. Normal fun time paper punching at 100 yards you should get 8,000 before you see much difference. If you do a bunch of mag dumps then this number goes down fast. SOOOO many variables to figure...........

The guys at Benchmark Barrels told me that an SSG 3000 barrel is "good" for 4000 rounds and then after that you have to start paying attention to throat erosion. Now what their definition of "good" is, they failed to mention :)

This fear, and the fact you can't get parts for this rifle, is why I have a spare barrel laying in wait.
