Trijicon acog and 556R

Anyone have this combination? I just received a TA33R-13H, 3x30 Acog. Also got the quick release mount for it. Looking for any info on initial setup, from what I have read, its all about getting to the range asap. Doing that this weekend. Just looking for any tips. First Acog, always been out of the budget. Also, whats the best buis for it? Looking at Samson, I have 556 Diopter on now, works with a little finagling(100-200, fine, 300 needs compensation for 7.62) ok...

I have a EOTech EXPS3-0 on my Sig 556R. I'm going to the range tomorrow and I'll let you know how it works. I wanted an ACog but could find the one I wanted. I'm thinking about getting an Aimpoint PRO for my other rifle.

Nice! How are you liking your 556R? So far after 400+ rounds I have no complaints! I really like how it recoils, staying on target with Irons and RDS is decent, cant wait to try this acog. Only 1 I saw that Trijicon makes for the 7.62x39 round so far. I found the red horseshoe under 1k and grabbed it as a little something to myself for Christmas. Hope the wife doesn't find the receipt!

So far, I think the 556R is really a very good rifle. It is accurate and like you said the recoil is minimal. I'll give you a range report on the EOTech when I get back from the range.

I have the ACOG TA-33R-13 on my 556R. It's the icing on the cake! I can hit a 12"x24" steel plate at 500yds with boring regularity. It's the perfect optic match for the 556R.

Did you sight in at 100 yds? Heard lots of differing opinions on what distance to sight in, and whether its meters or yards.

I actually sighted it in a 100 meters (109 yards). The BDC reticle works just great out to 500 yds using that sight in distance.

Question about the 556R. I see that is works with AK magazines. Does it work with with the 75 round drums? I have an AK that those work great with. (along with my Bulgarian 20's and 30's and 40's)

Just wondering. I had heard the drum does not fit.

No. The drums won't work with the 556R. The magazines sit higher up in mag well than they do in an AK.
