5.56 & .223 Ammo Craze

I just received 300 rounds of .223/5.56 from The Sportsmans Guide. $163 delivered. 62 grain Danish manufacture...new.

Just got on there site and everything is BO. Set up a email notification for a 500 round lot. Hope I can get my hands on some.

When I bought my first AR back in December right after the shtf I bought 2K rounds of Federal at 359 per thousand.

Thought I paid a lot then...guess I was wrong!

Yeah I was up at Cabelas in ME this weekend and they had some of the Hornady .223 and the AE Varmit rounds. Plenty of 9 and 40...not so much in the 45

Tough to find .22LR bulk around here. And this is definitely pro-gun country.

One more thing on this. It was listed as "backordered - not available until 2/23/13" or something like that. I ordered anyway because you lock in the price and they don't charge you until it ships. To my surprise, the order arrived Friday after I ordered 1/7/13 despite the backorder notice.

$163 dollars for 300 rounds? That better be some pretty good stuff, of course this is coming from the guy that just paid more than $20 bucks for each of two boxes of 20 rounds of Hornady Zombie Max ammo. More than a buck a round. Good grief just thinking about it makes me feel as if I voluntarily let myself get anally raped without the consideration of making them at least use ribbed for her pleasure lubricated condoms. I guess I'm just new to being raped at the check out line. I'll be better prepared next time.

anyone have any experience with Blackgun Industries?

I still believe patience will prevail here. If you can stand it...(it was 75-80degrees down here this weekend & I wanted to go shooting bad)

prices will start to come back down at or below that .50cents per round mark.

Brownells still has decent prices listed for some of their 5.56bulk but its not in stock of course...$390 per 1000 & some from DixieAmmo?

I have purchased the XM193 from BGA but it was New Manufacture ammo, not the remanufactured stuff they have available now, but I have had no problems with it. All that I have shot with it has gone bang and poked a hole in paper. It is manufactured with the same procedures as new but only with once fired brass. I got the 500 round bulk loose pack in the ammo can back when it was $169. I since have stopped shooting my AR due to lack of availability of 5.56 so that I can maintain my current stash.
