New to this forum too. I bought a Sig 522 from Walmart on Jan. 1st. Lucky to be there when they brought it out. Last one they had. Anyway I had to send it in to Sig before I even had a chance to shoot it. The front sight was canted because of the slot on gas block where the allen screw goes was off a little bit. Anyway they replaced the barrel and I got it back pretty quickly. Great customer service. Still haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Bought a front grip for it and looking at other things to add. Do you guys know if I could add a barrel shroud to it? The barrel is smooth and unthreaded.

I just got one of these too and did not realize the barrel was unthreaded until I got it home. Would dropping a threaded barrel in it be an option and if so who is making them? I'm also thinking about using a dremel tool to turn that 10 round walmart sig magazine into a 20 round, the mag is big enough for sure. Has anyone done this and did you need to replace the magazine spring? I was happy to get the gun at all in the current climate but I'd be a lot happier if I had got it from somewhere else and not the half-assed walmart version! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

The gas block on my 522 was loose as the set screw was not tight. I did tighten it up with an Allen wrench however even without "cranking" it down it gouged up the gas lock where it screwed down into. Pretty soft metal I'm gonna use the CP1 Prismatic Optic that came with it so I guess it doesn't really matter Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
