| SIG Rifles and Surefire Suppressors
Do any of you guys have the newer - model Surefires (those with the hokey "SOCOM" moniker)? I was wondering if you had any opinions regarding the way they mounted up onto the 516s or 716s. I'm somewhat on the fence as to whether or not I should go the AAC route - not a fan of the ratchet, though. |

Anything with Surefire in it's name is too costly for my budget.. |

Indeed. I like AAC's baffle welds, and Surefire's Quick Detach setup. |

I take it that quick detach means that Surefire suppressors do not screw on to the threaded end of the barrel? If so, I would go with Surefire because that is one less thing to worry about. Every time you screw or unscrew something you run the risk of damaging threads and I sure don't want to damage the threads on my rifle. Just my 2cents.. If I were in the market for a suppressor, I would want one that clamps on instead of screw on.
