Outside diameter of unthreaded barrel?

Wanting to add barrel adapter or shroud to my unthreaded barrel on Sig522 that I bought from Walmart. Does anyone know the actual ouside diameter of this barrel. I have tried calling and e-mailing Sig Sauer for the info with no luck.

I wasn't able to figure anything out, but I did come up with a solution that may be able to help. Look for a caliper, Walmart should have one in the tools section or check any autoparts store. I like to shop at Harbor Freight Tools for my tool needs because like me, they are cheap. Look for something that looks like this

This one costs $8.99 at Harbor Freight.com Here is the link if you want to check online. 6" Composite Digital Caliper
Use this tool to figure out the outer diameter and then keep it handy because they sure do come in handy.

So I managed to borrow a digital caliper and the barrel measured .750

Cool... I was thinking .750 because that's the standard Mil-Spec AR15 Barrel width at the gas block but I wasn't sure about your rifle so I held my tongue.. Awesome info.. Great work..

I took a trip to Harbor Freight today and picked this up for $9 with a coupon, and I got a free set of black handled magnetic tipped screw drivers....

It really is pretty neat and I highly recommend every SIG Talk forum member run out to their local Harbor Freight and check out their fantastic deals.. Every time I go there I go with my weekly flyer that always gives something away for free just for stopping in.
