What mags can be used on a 716?

I am new to ARs. I just got my SIG 716 3 weeks ago. I need a 5 round mag for hunting. What mags other than the PMAG can I use on the 716. So far I have added the enhanced butt pad, Timney 4# single stage trigger, Leupold VX-R Patrol and Smith Enterprises Good Iron muzzle brake. Can't wait to get to the range!

All the mags I own for my AR are all compatible. Any AR mag should fit her.

use the type mag that came with it

It's not just an AR. That's a 7.62mm or .308 use the 20 round magpul mag that came with it. Good luck finding some five rounders. As you know the prices have tripled on everything. You may be able to use AR10 mags but I don't think you can. Let's us know what you find.

If you can't find actual 5 round mags then you need a 5 round magazine limiter

Those limiters are only for 5.56 mags it states it on the package. It would have been nice of them to put that info online. I bought a pack that is how I know. It will not fit the 7.62 mag. I think I can modify it to fit since it is made of polymer, but don't want to go that route yet. Also I would prefer to have a short 5 round box instead of a 20 round limited to 5....thanks

Sorry...I tried.

You're only other option might be A.S.C. LLC. They make SR25 steel mags in .308 that I believe are compatible with the Sig716. Don't know if they have them in stock though.

Just so you know, Sig Sauer's Customer Service line allows you to purchase SR25 Magpul pmags for the 716. I just ordered 15 a couple days ago and they have some in stock. Get em while they're still legal...

I can't believe that SIG would not confirm that the SR25 are compatible when I called. LS716 I have a tip....M14/M1A mags DON'T fit.

Sig will sell you a couple of 20 rd 308 p/mags.I think most here know that.I can tell you that most of the guys that work C/S @ Sig, are good guys, some are bit more knowledgeable than others, some told me that a lot of guys are calling in and are trying to order large amounts of those mags and mentioned that they were finding out thru the grapevine ,they were being re-sold, it seems they have put a limit on 5 at the most. grabbed 5 from them and there wasnt any gouging @19.95 a piece., was happy to even be able to find the ELUSIVE P/mag and at an affordable price. The rep said they were going FAST!! HURRY UP FOR THOSE WHO DO NEED EM.
