P-mag priority sales to LE and Military, I ordered mine on the 15th, they shipped yesterday! this is the email fro Magpul:

During this period of high demand, we at Magpul are taking steps to ensure that Military and Law Enforcement professionals that use our products in their job-related activities can still obtain the magazines they need for on-duty use. To meet this need, we have set up a process for Mil/LE purchase of up to ten PMAGs per account from our website.

In order to participate in this program, go to: Magpul Industries Ecommerce.

- Create your login account and click the “Register” button to submit.

- Once you receive a Membership Confirmation e-mail from orders@magpul.com reply directly back to it (RE: ) along with your name and unit or agency affiliation. Please respond using an official .mil or agency e-mail address, or provide other official identification to verify Military or LE status.

- If you already have a login account at Magpul.com, please just send an e-mail to orders@magpul.com with your name, unit or agency affiliation as outlined above, and the e-mail address you used to sign up for the account.

Once we verify your status (this process can take up to a few days) you will be added to an authorized MIL/LE group, which will allow a one-time purchase from a limited access section of our website. You will then receive a notification e-mail stating that you have been added to this group, and instructions for placing your order will be included.

The gen 2's are the .308 mags, and the gen 3's are the .223

Once confirmed on the program that is the only option you have between the two.

Easy Jackwagon 229R, I myself served my country proudly 38 years ago and any time you want to play shooting games, any weapon, any time. In fact, I could almost guaranty you that I can out shoot 90% of the LEO's out there. Does that make me me a non-qualified to buy guns and ammo moron? According to you, yes it does, but since your opinion means nothing to me,,,,,have a nice day.

Actually, I don't believe anything I said here had anything to do with anyone's ability to shoot, I could care less how well you shoot but feel free to brag about whose Johnson is bigger if it makes you feel potent.
I also made no mention of wanting to restrict the ability of anyone, LE or non LE to buy anything they want. I support every facet of the second amendment for all citizens. I'm not sure where you came up with my posting that anything makes you "non-qualified to buy guns and ammo"
Thank you very much for your service to our country, but clearly you should have spent some of the last 38'years on reading comprehension, spelling and grammar.
What I do have a problem with is someone jumping on a thread and using terms like "kicking in doors" and "terrorizing families" to paint LE officers with a such a broad brush. It was inappropriate and uncalled for. If you have an issue with manufacturers providing products first to LE and military, take it up with them but I hardly think it's appropriate to state that police officers are buying high capacity magazines to arm themselves for some upcoming confrontation with the gun owning public. Frankly,I think you'd be hard pressed to find a single officer who even considers that they would do that.

For the same reason that numerous supply companies are banning state agencies from purchasing their products if they are not available to everyone. If it's not available to every "legal, law abiding" citizen then it should not be available to any.

You know any guys who have deployed, especially Marines? Their issue gear is not always the best it could be. Many kit up as best they can before they leave.

I should resent them being able to find a Pmag? Come on. There's theory and there's life.

You really think that's an answer for a young man about to deploy?
Because you can't obtain something -- and you actually can, if you scrounge hard enough -- a Marine or a soldier or a cop on the job shouldn't have it?
Were you an only child, perhaps?
"Every law abiding citizen" is not about to go hump a ruck, drive s Humvee on a mountain road dotted with IEDs or respond to a multiple shots-fired call in the middle of the night.
Dislike the government every bit you want, but don't take it on the poor ******** trying to do their job and get home safely at day's end.
The market will settle. In the meantime, a little less selfishness and "my rights" whining would be really cool.

The Marine Corps banned polymer mags because they are supposedly incompatible with the M27 infantry automatic weapon (replacement for the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon). MagPul has corrected this problem with their Gen III PMAG and reports that there is no compatibility issue.

Bottom line, Marines and Soldiers know there are serious problems with aluminum mags and they will purchase the Gen III PMAGs, try them before deployment to ensure there are no compatibility issues, and bring them when they deploy. The aluminum mags are notorious for double feeds and rounds not feeding correctly in the battlefield. In the governments own field tests the aluminum magazines finished dead last in performance.

Why so confrontational PTDG1?
CoC is what it is...sometimes CoC doesnt quite get the job done...does that mean you just bang your head against the wall & go without before a deployment?
I dont think so...most of the time (within reason) your CoC will not go against you if they cant get it but you can get it for yourself.
Also, is that really your best option to leapfrog the CoC before a deployment?
**** off as many as you can with your whinning & alienate yourself before you go overseas for 12 months or more...
I can understand the LE side of your argument but the military is quite different.

I wasn't afraid. different times - In my 10 years in the Corps, I never felt my issued equipment was failing to the point that the life of my fellow Marines or mine was at stake.

I am still surprised that you believe that fast tracking equipment to active duty Jarheads doesn't take precedence to your needs.

All my mags function exactly the same and without problems and I've got D&H, Colt, Ronin, Pmag, Troy, and Brownells. Hopefully our armed forces have access to all the equipment they need or want but my understanding is that many of them aren't even allowed to field Pmags. I've got no problem taking a back seat to military contracts.

did I miss an article that suggests inadequate supply or quality of magazines in the military? shame on the decision makers if this is true but it wouldn't surprise me.

for the Louisville locals; there are pallets of Ronin (current USGI) magazines at Shooters Supply in Louisville. A little steep at $22 each but no limit. MagLevel Pmags also at $22 each limit one/day.
