Bearone2 believe me I'm well aware of that...now. A Sig rep sort of chastised me gently about the ammo. She seems to have settled in but when I take her to the range it's with the 124gr ammo not the **** stuff.

X5 off to the Sig Armorer

My new-to-me X5 AllRound went off to see Robert Burke last week.

As acquired, it had a very heavy DA pull...one that Robert described as "brutal" when he got it.

Additionally, a small washer/shim was missing from under the decocking lever causing it to wobble and contact the frame.

The AllRound doesn't come with a Short Reset Trigger, but one had been installed before I bought it. The original sear was with the gun when I got it, so it will reinstalled when the QTR trigger is added. My understanding is that the X5 sear is a tool steel part.

I'll be using the X5 in USPSA Carry Optics matches, so Robert will do one of his Competition Action Jobs. We discussed using a lighter hammer spring to help get the DA pull down near 7 pounds. SA pull should be in the 2.25 range.

In the meantime, I've ordered set of Hogue G-10 Piranha grips and just received an extended magazine release from Bob at Firearms Depot. I'm also on the waiting list with Firearms Depot for a Docter Optics red dot mount that fits into the recess where the stock sight sits.

Should have it back in 2-3 weeks.....and then we'll try it out and provide a report.

wasn't this from a private collection/lgs owner, where you bought it?

Not really sure....

...if he was the original owner. It may have been traded in.

Despite the need for some work on the X5, I'm happy to have found one!

Nice, congrats! Re red dot sights, would a Sig X-Mount work with this model?

X-mount...

....will work, but I want one that will be legal for USPSA "Carry Optics" class.

This is the one I'll use.

Just got word...

...that the Docter Optics Mount has arrived at Firearms Depot in Flagstaff.

Should have it in a few days.

Docter Sight II Plus ordered...

...from Dean Makkos at Docter USA.

He recommended the Docter Sight II Plus 7.0 MOA for use in pistol competition. (He is a USPSA competitior).

Our sight will have the "bulletproofing" process done as well. This includes a range of services to ensure reliability, particularly when mounted on a slide (as mine will be).

The new sight is shipping out today, so I may have it by the weekend.

The mount may ship later this week and my G-10 grips should arrive today.

Just waiting on the X5 All Round to come back from Robert Burke!

I'll have to shoot tonight's indoor match with my dumb, old P226 Tacops
