Just joined the X5 Club....

Found a slightly used X5 AllRound in my local gun store the other day.

Had to trade away one of my other guns (one that I could replace easily) and some cash to take it home.

The gun came with the original cardboard box and plastic box with manuals, small tools (Allen wrenches and Torx wrench for grip screws) and test target.

It appears the gun has had a Short Reset Trigger installed, too.

I'm already looking at spare parts kits and extended magazine releases.

Would appreciate any advice from other X5 owners.

TIA,

Northlight

PS: Yes, I know...."pictures or it didn't happen".....stand by.....just got home...

I found the X5 AllRound...

....here in the Seattle area at a small nearby gun store: Low Price Guns.

I tripped over it by accident when I stopped in just to look around the other day.

As their name implies, they do have competitive prices, but what they really have is a nice, knowledgeable staff and owner.

The X5 belonged to the store owner...he was there when I bought it...and he liked the gun a lot and was torn about letting it go.

But I'm glad he did!

Congrats on joining the X5 club! My X5 was very finicky with plain wrap, bulk ammo, earning her the knick name of the Blond Bimbo. 500 rds didn't make her engage the slide stop and sometimes FTE. These were 115 gr rounds from various manufacturers.

One magazine of Federal American Eagle 124 gr rds was enough to cure the issues. Wish I had bought those first.

You're going to love your X5; mine is a forever gun, she'll get passed on to someone, but I'll never sell her!

x5 ar's didn't deliver with the srt, you might see if the owner has the old parts.

i'm not a fan of the srt in the ar, a lot of time/fitting was put into assembling something with a pretty good trigger of of the box.

low powered ammo can be problematic.

Pix...part two....

....Profiles...and posing with my P226 Tacops.

Decocker has a little bit of a wobble in it...might need a new bushing or a one of those brass shims "bumper-ed" in behind it.

In the previous set of photos, one of the parts is a sear...am I right?

Probably the original, that was replaced to put in the SRT?

Thanks for welcoming me to the X5 club.

btw it's an x5e, not the original x5 & that's the original sear/safety lever.

Thanks...

..yes, X5E.

So we are thinking of using the new gun in USPSA Carry Optics events.

Looking for a red dot mount that will fit into the recess where the stock adjustable sight goes. Do NOT want to mill the slide!
