40 is my preferred round. But I daily carry a 1911 Ultra 45.

I own pistols in two calibers, 9mm and .45 ACP. If the 9mm is not available, I have no problems carrying a .45 (Glock 21 or 41).

Almost the same I own two calibers, 9mm and S&W so if no 9mm my Glock 23, 27 or my P226 Legion.

Honestly, I'd be happy carrying .40 S&W, .45 ACP, or 10mm in lieu of 9mm, but this would be my preference.

Not my 1911 Ultra in 9mm? Then have to be my Sig 1911 Compact in 45acp. Both fit the same holster.

In my possession, it would be a .40. After joining the forum and absorbing so much information, I am hot on the trail for a 357 to add to my array of Sigs.

Prefer 9mm, but if not an option would go to my Kimber Pro TLE II, .45 ACP.

Whoa! This is almost as divisive a question as the basic calibre wars!

I carry 9 a lot. BUT then, I carry it in various forms - 9mm Short in a PPK in the pocket, regular 9, and often "9mm Magnum (.357 Sig)". But sometimes I feel like Heavy Metal. Then it's a .45 in either an Ultra CDP or a 220 or a 220 SAS ... OR a Commander. I wear a shoulder holster in the winter often as I have a cover garment so it's easy (and you get 3 mags with that), so the last several are easy carries without bother about weight.

I'm not married to a particular caliber. It's actually rather rare that I carry a 9mm. More often than not you'll see me with a .380 or a .38 special +P.

Admittedly neither is the best for extended gun fights but my daily itinerary seldom includes that sort of excitement.

You gots the poll worded wrong.

If you can't carry your .45acp, what is your fallback caliber?
