Range report on the Holosun 507k.

I took it to the range for the first time this morning to sight it in using a rest. After sighting in I fired another 50 rounds and it stayed on zero. I had it configured to show both the 32 MOA ring and center dot. First impression was good...then it failed.

After my range session I showed the sight to a friend. We were outside in the sun. He looked through it and said he could barley see the red dot. I then looked through it and he was right! I could barley make out the ring and dot. Thinking that cycling the power might reset it, I turned it off, but could not get it to turn back on. To me this is a MAJOR failure and I lost all confidence it this sight, especially on a carry gun. I plan on returning it and go back to using iron sights for now.

I'm in my mid-60's and prefer using a red dot on my carry gun. But I don't trust this Holosun. I have a Holosun 507C mounted on one of my range pistols and it's been nothing but reliable. Being the 507k just came out maybe Holosun has some bugs to work out. I hope that Trijicon comes out with a micro RMR (you listening Trijicon?)

The batteries they come with are not top line. I had a flickering issue with a 507c and when I put a top line battery in it the problem never recurred. I have several hundred rounds through my 507k on my Hellcat and it hasn't missed a beat. Try an Energizer or Duracell before you throw in the towel. If you don't trust it, hit me up and I'll take it off your hands

I took my XL with HS507K to the range again today and shot steel targets. I switch between indoor ranges and outdoor and I easily adjust the brightness on the side. I've shot at least 400 rounds with mine and it works flawless.

Sorry to hear it failed first trip out. I would check the battery first. I have a romeo zero if you’re interested.

Mine has been flawless as well. Keep those range reports coming in guys. Lots of members are trying to make a decision on a RDS.

I have a Trijicon SRO that also flickered and went dead. It turned out to be I didn't screw the battery cap down tight enough. I put a tiny amount of silicone grease on the end of a toothpick and touched it to the threads, not enough to get down into the electronics. This allowed me to tighten it more and still get it loose. The SRO contact is just a big chamfer in the bottom and it has to be really tight.

No issues with mine, shake awake not as sensitive as I'd like but no complaints.

How well does everything line up on the gun with it mounted?

Everything mounted up perfect, no gaps or mods needed as some have reported. Holding zero fine. Seems it goes in deeper sleep the longer it's off. During day if I come in and set it on table for say an hour wakes up fine very little movement needed just picking it up is enough. However over night when it's been off for hours seems it takes a bit more movement to wake it. Anyone else noticed this?
