Starbucks 2-14-2012 TODAY We NEED To Support StarBucks!
I found this on another forum and thought it was worth sharing.

This is a reminder and a call to action. The National Gun Victims Action Council (NGVAC) has called for a nationwide boycott of Starbucks and their products. This boycott is targeted for tomorrow 2/14 (Valentines Day), going forward, until they achieve their goal of banning carry in Starbucks.

Let me insert here that Starbucks has stated that they are neither pro-gun nor anti-gun. They do not wish to be dragged into our political battles on this issue. They are, what I and others have termed, pro-freedom. Starbucks just wishes to be left alone to sell coffee and their other products. Their policy is simple: They will abide by the laws of the state/municipality in which a specific store is resident. If the state says you can open carry, that’s fine with them. They are not setting any policy that goes beyond the law.

We do not need or want an overt show of force. There will be no NGVAC demonstrators walking picket lines outside Starbucks stores. Their approach is more insidious than that – they simply are urging their members to stop buying. So how do we counter that, while at the same time not going to an extreme that may prove counterproductive? We take up the slack. I want Starbucks to have one of their best ever revenue generating days on the 14th and to continue going forward. Here’s how we make our voices heard so that it is noted that this is not a fluke, but a show of support from the firearms community. When you go into Starbucks tomorrow wear something that identifies you as a member of our community. It can be as subtle as a hat with a firearm manufacturer’s logo or as overt as an “I Love Guns & Coffee” T-shirt, made to look like the Starbucks logo. If you normally carry there, fine, do so tomorrow also. I am just trying to avoid anything that the general populous finds intimidating. When you carry on an individual basis, that’s good and raises awareness of our issues. When it is done en masse it may prove the adage of shooting ourselves in the foot.

Aside from your appearance, make an effort to pay with $2 bills. If you recall the framer of the 2A was Jefferson, who appears on the $2 bill, plus $2 = 2A. At the end of the day, when they count out the till, someone will take notice of all the $2 bills and will probably mention it to higher-ups, right up the chain until they realize this was a nationwide trend and a message being sent by the firearm community.

So make the effort. Go to the bank (or several - $2 bills are not easily obtained, which makes the message they send doubly effective) and procure some $2 bills. Go to Starbucks and enjoy a leisurely breakfast, lunch or snack and pay with the $2 bills. For those of you that are apt to whine that they’d never pay $5 for a cup of coffee, or that they don’t like Starbucks coffee because it is too dark, burnt etc, please be aware that Starbucks is not a “one-trick pony”. In addition to coffee and all the foo-foo drinks generated from same, they have tea, chai (I have no idea what that is – but it’s not coffee), hot chocolate, bottled water, fruit juice and an assortment of sandwiches and pastries. For those that dislike the taste of Starbuck’s regular brew, I suggest trying their new Blonde Roast (I know there’s a joke in there somewhere). And to those penurious Scotsmen among us, a regular cup of Starbucks coffee is generally less than $2.

I’d like to see this be a win/win day for Starbucks and the firearms community. Please participate. If my words have not inspired you, just try reading the other side’s reasoning (caution to those of you on blood pressure medication), if that doesn’t convince you to participate, nothing I can say will. Here’s their message…
