Springfield TRP

I am picking up a Springfield TRP 45acp in the next couple of weeks and I was looking to add more mags to it.

It comes with 2-7round magazines and I was wanting to pick up some 8 rounders.

I have always been a 1911 guy so Wilson Combat was my first stop but upon checking Google....I see some people have issues with Springfield 1911's and Wilson mags.

Has anyone else who has a TRP/Springfield 1911 ever experienced any issues?

The Wilsons I have always used in other guns never gave me any problems so this was a surprise to me.

Iíve never had problems with wilson combat mags in my Springfield Armory 1911ís.

In fact, this is the first Iíve heard of it but I havenít been on 1911 forums in years.

I did order a couple of wilson combat 10 rounders but I havenít tried them out yet. I do have a bunch of the wilson 8 rounders. Those are all that I use.

I have never had a problem with Wilson Combat mags in any of my pistols. For a 1911 .45ACP, I prefer Wilson Combat 47D. They are 8 round stainless with a polymer follower. They are easy to load and REALLY easy to empty!

I had a TRP years ago. Mine had no issues with Wilson’s. Great gun but my soft girlie hands couldn’t handle the checkering.

Not everything you read on the inter web is true.

I have used WC 8-rd mags in my .45ACP TRP for years with zero malfunctions. I have some 10mm mags that work well in that TRP as well.

All of my Wilson mags, both in .45 ACP and in .38 Super have been flawless performers.

It’s been a while since I bought my TRP, but at the time Springfield included an order form for more magazines at a new gun special buys price.

I don’t remember the prices now, but it was low enough I bought a dozen more stainless factory mags at the time.

My TRP has been super reliable. I’ve never had any issues with any ammo including my caste lead reloads.

Springers are really great 1911s.
I also prefer 47D but have not had issues.

I also preferred Shooting Stars by Chip McCormick, but Wilson bought the line, so oh well.
I still have a bunch of Shooting Stars.

Just takes money.

Nice thing about Springers is the line uses match barrels.
A Range Officer is a great lower priced gun than the Loaded or TRP.
You really don't give up a whole lot.

The Range Officer is supposed to be built to the same standards of the TRP. Range Officer is a great gun!
