P226 SAO RXP and 220 10mm ???

Stopped by my toy store to finally pick up my 226 today. The pistol shelves were for the most part empty. But there was a P220 10mm Legion on the shelf, of course I needed to look at it. It was one of the DA/SA models. It’s a big pistol, I liked the heft of the all steel. I’ve already got a couple 10mm 1911’s and if this was the SAO model I’d really be tempted. Love 10mm !!! I did try out it’s trigger pull. The single action pull didn’t come anywhere close to the 226 SAO trigger. In fact, it just didn’t impress me making me need it. I’ll think about it as I don’t have any DA/SA Sigs.

Getting the 226 SAO RXP Legion home, I broke her down to clean and lube in anticipation for a range session this coming Friday. Pistol was clean with a light oil covering. The barrel had tell tale signs of being test fired, but clean. Getting that chore done, I proceeded to check the trigger pull. The single action pull out of the box was reading 3 lbs 4 ounces to 3 lbs 7 ounces. It’s a sweet trigger.

Doing some practice dry fires, the pistol points naturally for me. I’m instantly on the red dot. With my M&P 9 PC RMR, I have to push the nose down a bit to get on the dot. I can tell that this 226 is going to be my favorite red dot pistol already. I look forward to putting her through the paces Friday.

I’ll keep thinking about that 10mm Legion, but that price tag of $1,549 is a bit steep now that earnings are down since I got back to work from this virus going around.

Nice!

I like the SAO trigger on my P229 as well. The P226 Legion SAO RXP is on my short list.

Congratulations on the new pistola.
Yeah that red dot pointability makes a big difference. I canít use my other red dot pistol as a nightstand gun as I just canít find the dot quickly enough.
