P229 legion soa 9mm
Brand spanking new, After 3 different range days and countless ftf the pistol went back to Sig. 1 day after receiving it I’m emailed and told the gunsmith took it out of the box lubed it and ran over 100 rounds without a hiccup! The customer service rep said their guns are “Thirsty” when it comes to lubricant!! Enough so as to “leave a fingerprint, but not dripping”. I’m not stingy when lubricant is applied on my pistols but this is my first Sig and they must be a different animal.

Tighter tolerances with quality higher end firearms. They need to run a bit “wetter” until broken in. I would also encourage you to use higher pressure ammo for short bit. 124gr NATO or some quality SD ammo. Say two three boxes then standard 115’s should run just fine. Gotta get the slide moving and the RSA pushing.

Did you get it back and shoot it yet?
I had a similar issue (Failure to feed) with a P229 9mm (2015 build). The round would eject, but the incoming round would hang on the feed ramp or sometimes double feed. I sent it back to SIG. They saw no issues and instructed me to not use Winchester White Box during initial break in. I took it back out to the range with Speer Lawmen 124 gr and still had the issue. I bought new mags and still had the issue. After about 600 rounds, I finally gave up, traded it for a big loss, and picked up a P229 Legion in .357 SIG. Never had any issues with the Legion. I own a 10 classic SIGs and had one bad experience. Good luck with your new pistol!
