P220 Legion Carry SAO

Seems this little rascal is back limited 500 run.

Does anyone have any experience with this pistol?

I own a 229 Legion SAO and love it!

Been wanting to add a .45 Legion to the safe.

Maybe this is the one? ...unsure of the price.

Then there is the matter of actually finding one.

Maybe easier than ammo right now? lol

Please don't reply with the usual "legions are overrated junk" etc etc
This is not a thread to debate the merits of legion vs non-legion
I like them and that is that.

I don't experience with a 220 Carry Legion SAO, but I have a ton of experience with a 220 Carry SAO. Not a huge difference between the two.

I like it a lot because there's no grip safety, something that gives me problems in the 1911 platform because of the size and geometry of my hands and this eliminates that problem.

Great gun.

The safety paddles look nicer on this gun compared to my 229.

Mine are huge!
I'd rather huge than the piddly little things on the 365xl
The paddles on this 220 SAO look just right.

My right paddle has a ton of "play" in it.
I asked Sig about this and the said "that's part of the design" mmmk
I'm no gunsmith so maybe this is true.

I've got a P220 Carry Equinox DA/SA that's been my daily carry and it's been superb, as has the SAO setup on my P220 Super Match.

Unlike as with a 1911 or P226 SAO, you can clear a chambered round from a P220 SAO with the safety engaged which is a great feature IMO.

I'd love to own one of the P220 Carry SAO Legions; if you have the opportunity to buy one, grab it.

The original P220 Legion Carry that came out a few years ago in very limited numbers was DA/SA, not SAO.

Ah, so this is the first time they have offered this platform is SAO?

I really want one! Hoping my LGS can get one pinned down. Then I can stare longingly at it and dry fire until ammo prices come down. (kidding) Grateful I have a good amount of ammo on hand. The current prices are ridiculous! QC seems lacking too, at least the last case from Federal was. Separate topic that has been beaten to death, I digress.

The dimensions seem similar to the 229. Can anyone confirm?

I have been unable to find it anywhere online.
It would be nice to have an idea of cost, any guesses?
1500ish?

Since the heads up email to Legion only members just went out this AM, I suspect it maybe a month before retailers get one. My LGS has already contacted their Sig sales rep requesting a supply.

Given that Sig is planning for a 500 unit run and the nutty nature of the gun market these days, $1500 sounds right.

When I first got the email my mind instantly thought 220 “Compact” SAO. Wishful thinking.
The Carry is a nice size, SAO a big plus for some of us.

Yah $1,500 is a safe bet. Optics Ready would be nice.

You can clear a chambered round with the safety on a P226 SAO. And I agree that it is a great feature - less weapon manipulation with the safety off seems, well, safer for carrying.

You must be thinking about the X5 series that lock the slide with the safety on (afaik, that feature exists on the P226 and P220 X5s
