P210A guide rod spring

This is a discussion on P210A guide rod spring within the P210 forums, part of the SIG Sauer Pistols category; OK, as I mentioned previously, there is some confusion with language and translation. I did see the difference between the photo on Zahal's website and ...

OK, as I mentioned previously, there is some confusion with language and translation.

I did see the difference between the photo on Zahal's website and what was actually shipped.

What I think/suspect is the difference is the photo shows a system designed for either a .22LR P210 (soft steel) or 9MM (hard steel). The photo indicates it's for 22/7.65/9, which would require very different recoil spring strengths.

The system I and most others have purchased is for 9MM, not 22, so we only receive the "hard" steel.

Update: BTW, you might want to check out https://sigtalk.com/p210/372502-dpm-...tructions.html. It took several email exchanges for me to understand how DPM really intends their system to be used.

FYI if you want the Free patch they offer, it will cost you .01 so it's free-ish...

My Sig P210A is new, unfired (planning on this weekend) and I didn't see any problem with the guide rod assembly.
Ordered the DPM kit based on the many successful reports.

I sent a question to Sig today via email asking about my manufacturing date and if they were replacing guide rods or offering an upgrade. We'll see what they say.
Heard from Sig today a little more that 2 weeks after posting my questions to them.

The P210 I purchased two weeks ago was manufactured in November 2019.

Aaron from Sig said " There are no persistent issues related to the guide rod assembly of the P210, however if, in the unlikely even that the guide rod should break, you can contact us at 603-610-3000 extension 1 from the main menu to obtain a new guide rod assembly."

I've only put a 200 rounds through the pistol and the guide rod is holding.

Haven't received my DPM assembly yet but given today's environment everything is taking more time.

All things considered, I really enjoy the P210 Target. Cheers

Really?! I think we're talking 3 Pinocchios here.

The P210 Target is a fine handgun. But that recoil spring assembly is an engineering embarrassment.

I am very disappointed and after seeing all the quarks on the Sig 226 with Thor hammer hitting the safety crossbar causing it to eventually Rattle and make the whole oval and another part nicking the frame I don't think out take another chance on a high-end Sig

Want'a thank you guys for your very helpful replies on this thread. Wasn't aware and sorry to read of this 210A recoil difficulities - and understand your abundant frustrations. Gotta say this isn't surprising though.

Our 2 engineer sons that work in the space industry frequently remind me of the complexity and difficulties in design & operations of high performance equipment. Stuff happens...

Yeah, after working through numerious firearm issues, SIG's Bill Lawson & I have been on 1st names for many years. Bill's always been responsive to us on - P227 14rd magazine failures, MCX 300BLK backorders, MCX mandatory recall, MCX carriage assembly failures, MCX upper receiver cam path wear, Match Duo hammer dents and broken P365 striker issues - And that's just my list!

Am picking up a P210A later today or tomorrow, and placed a Zahal order this morning. DPM's recoil assembly is a very trick system that I'm happy to add to this range toy.

Cheers

Track your order with Zahal VERY CAREFULLY.

I ordered the DPM directly from Zahal on March 22, 2020. As of May 22, 2020, the package is still apparently in Athens, Greece, where the tracking info says it's been since March 24.

When I pinged Zahal on May 8, they got back to me on May 10 and said "... shipment usually takes about 10-14 business days. but there have been delays with the post due to Covid19. Please give the order some more time arrive."

I pinged them again today, 10 business days after the last ping. No reply yet (but it's night there at the moment).

61 days and counting...

My Zahal order arrived thankfully. You ordered yours before me though so I am not sure how that works. Fingers crossed.

I've ordered from Zahal multiple times and things have gone smoothly until my last order for a DPM Systems Technology recoil reduction system. Zahal put the order in quickly (3-29) and DPM (located in Athens) shipped it fairly quick. Delivery is pretty much out of their hands after that.

Have you tried tracking your package via https://t.17track.net or the USPS website?

Here's how my package is making the trip:

Here's hoping yours arrives soon.

Regards,
Greg

Yes, I used the tracking info, which is how I know the part never left Athens.

Zahal did reply to my latest prompting yesterday and said they would contact DPM.

Update: 87 days after I ordered the guide rod from Zahal, it arrived yesterday -- in the envelope shown in the photos.

I *think* the rod and springs are fine, have to check them out.

The delivery time being complained about here, and the packaging as finally delivered is so totally different from my experience that it doesn't even seem like the same companies.

I ordered mine 12/26/19 and received the DPMS on 1/8/20, even with the holidays. It arrived in a heavy cardboard envelope, well identified and packaged.

JohnFLand's photo looks kinda' like the cardboard envelope I received, but it looks like it went through a war.

I would email the photo back to Zahal, since they were your point of contact, and ask them to send a replacement. You shouldn't have to "think" it's undamaged. Be polite, it looks like it probably left Greece in good condition.

Zahal delivered DPM's P210 recoil system today. Ordered on May 22, the shipping status reporting was inconsistent, but arrived in good condition. Assembly looks very well made, will start with short spring & thin washer

Cheers

Hey same here, my factory assembly hasn't broken yet. I might preemptively swap it.
