Kimber Micro Mag in P238

I just bought a Sig P238 SAS model and I bought a Kimber micro 7 round mag for it because I heard they will work and are a lot cheaper. Took it out and tried it and it works fine but does not lock open on the last round. I'm going to use it as a range mag but would like to have it lock open any ideas?

Sorry, no experience using a Kimber mag in a 238.

but.... as a result of information I located on this site I bought two Springfield 911 mags and they perform perfectly in my 238.

The only practical solution here is to buy a few Springfield 911 mags for the 238 and a Kimber Micro .380 for the spare mag you have.

I think it's worth paying the Sig prices for at least one carry mag.

I feel more comfortable with my carry mag coming from the gun's manufacturer.

I got three 7 round and one 6 round Sig mags for my P238.

I might add a few lower cost mags for range practice.

I notice the METALFORM mags for the P238 are cheaper than the Sig version on ebay.

How are they for reliability?

I have only used Sig Mags in my 238 HD .. for the price difference and being able to use them not only on the range but for carry too is worth the extra cost to me ..

I don't have any range only magazines .. all of mine work as they are intended .. it would be too easy for someone (Wife, daughter, or son ) to pick up a range only mag so not worth having to me ..

Hope you paint it bright Pink or some color so not to mix with a good magazine ..

I have 2 Sig Mags a 6 and a 7 round I got on ebay new. I bought the Kimber mag where I bought the gun. Do the springfield mags hold open on the last round?

Uh, yeah, but apparently you didn't think so. Guess you're more the serious type and not much for humor huh.

Sir, yes, sir

The Springfield 911 mags function exactly like the factory Sig Sauer mags sir. Fit perfectly, lock in tightly and hold the slide open when empty sir.

My experience has been that the Kimber and Sig mags don't work in the Springfield 911.
For some reason they do not allow a round to be chambered.

Since I have a lot of Kimber Micro and Sig P238 mags I didn't try the 911 mags in those guns.

I have a P238 & 911 Mags are interchangeable

6 & 7 round, interchange and work flawlessly in each other. I had an early SIG mag which wouldn't work in either.... Went into recycling... EMPTY....
