My P938 BRG (Black Rubber Grip). Dropped it off at my local gunsmith Saturday for a good trigger polishing. It should run like a pickle seeder when I get it back. (Not sure what that means. My friend always says it. I assume it's a good thing -)
Awesome shots guys! I'm really digging some of those wood grips. Think I want a more wood colored grip now. My blackwood model is really dark black as you can see. Lol hardly tell its wood.
Here's my brand new Blackwood with his big brother Sig SS 1911. I wanted this one or the SAS.
I picked it up last night. Will shoot this weekend if I can find some ammo. MFR date of 12/29/12 but doesn't say anything about "Gen 2." They had 7rd mags in stock too so I picked one up.
Honestly, I'm assuming mine with MFR date of 12/29/12 is Gen 2. My point is I don't think Sig would label them as such. That would be admitting there were issues and result in bad PR.
They may be communicating this to distributors but I doubt it's official.
I saw some posts as far back as October mentioning the Gen 2 label. I have not, however, seen any proof that such a label exists yet. I'm not saying it doesn't, just haven't seen one.
My two tone P938 was made 12/26/12 and I don't see anything on the box saying Gen 2...
Shot 100 rounds yesterday without any issues. I used 115 grain to see if it would force one, but they all feed, fired and ejected with no problems. Grips did come loose though...
That Gen 2 on the label was a line told from a gun shop, at least the label saying Gen 2 was. Sig quietly did the updates in the fall of 12 and beyond. You will not find Gen 2 written anywhere on the box or gun from Sig. If I am wrong post a picture and I will gladly retract my words.
