P320 question

Have a question.
I can pick up a new ( made in 2016) P320 carry with threaded barrel. For a.relly good price.
Or should I opt for the more expensive P320 x carry ?
What are the main differences? I can put the x carry grip on the standard carry..but I overheard someone say the slide was updated on the x carry ... Is this true? Or am I ok with the cheaper P320 carry and just updating the grip?

You can use the X carry grip module on the standard 320 without issue. The X carry has a lightening cut on the slide, the serrations are cut differently, and the barrel is a just a tad different, as it will not work in the standard 320 slide, but a standard 320 barrel will fit the x carry slide. The barrel also has a target or recessed crown. The x carry slide is also cut for the Sig optics.

The trigger system is the same, but the x carry has the Sig flat trigger.

I was making the same decision you are making now and I went with the X carry as I found one at a really good price.

I really just depends on what you want to do with the pistol. If you are looking for a suppressor host, then the standard 320 is probably a better way to go.

If you are looking for a full balls on carry gun without having to change anything, the x carry is a solid option.

I like both and have both, and I do really like the x carry frame a bit more than the standard frame.

Accuracy wise, I can shoot both about the same and don't really notice much difference between them. Both my 320's the x carry and 320 have the pretension barrel and slide that Sig references.

Great thank you for the response!
The gun will be used primarily as EDC.
But also a little play time at the range etc.
I usually use my Glock G19 but my wife has pretty much stolen it from me...lol.
But we are talking about a 300 00 difference in price
And I have to have an excuse to grab another Sig.
I can see sometime in the future possibly adding anred dot...but I don't want that to be my deciding factor.
Just wanted to make sure 3 weeks from now I don't decide I can't live without the x-carry slide.

Yeah I was doing the same thing. I have carried glocks for most of my 20 plus years as an LE. In 2015 I started moving back to Sig with the 320. The drop fire thing came up and I went back to Glock until they got things figured out.

The 5th Gen Glock came out about that time, and I will say they are an improvement over the previous Gens, but ground breaking or anything.

I had the intention of moving up to the X carry prior to the upgrade but put it on hold as well.

Fast forward and I got my 320 back from the upgrade and vetted it out again. Made me realize how much I like the platform, and in short order move forward with my X carry purchase.

It is now my duty pistol, and I am pretty sure my Glocks will now gather dust in the safe only to seeing the light of day occasionally.

I don't think you can go wrong with either the 320 of the x carry. I would however suggest, if you thought about getting the x carry, I would get it. Cause if you get the regular 320, it will eat at you and you will likely end up with the X carry anyway.

2 things I haven’t seen pointed out.
1. If you buy the older 320 and put a x-carry grip on it you may have to buy updated mags or alter the ones you receive with it. The x carry is designed for newer mag baseplate.
2. The x carry comes with a flat trigger and different sights. As some may argue they are improved, this is a personal decision.

I would really recommend getting both in hand before deciding. However either will work for edc it just comes down to preference. I’m not sure where you’ve been looking but I see new 320s for the 5-600 range and the x carry from the 650-800 range. Maybe this helps offset the “$300 price difference” if you like the cuts, beavertail, grip feel, trigger and sights, is say go for it. But definitely try to handle them before buying one! Shooting them would be great as well!

if you have experience with the 320, it'd be easier to go to the X-carry. but if you're new to the platform, i don't think the cheaper TACOPS 2016 model would would be a bad choice so you'll get some hands-on experience with the platform.

having a 320 and somewhat foolishly selling it off for a Glock 19, if I ever get another 320 it'd be an X-carry for all the improvements.

I had the same choice a month ago. I went with the X Carry and am glad I did. Very accurate and really fun to shoot. My buddy tried it out and fell in love with it immediately. The X Carry has the different grip which in my opinion is much more comfortable, and gives you 17 rounds as well. The sights I haven't had any problems with and I do like the ease of being able to add the Romeo1 if decide to in the future. It's not something I really plan on doing but you never know. The flat trigger is awesome. I wasn't sure how I would like it at first but really like it now. The barrel has the crown cut for added accuracy as well. The lightning cut I don't care for either way, but I read it was done to help with balance and recoil. If that's true it definitely is working because it shoots very smoothly. The X Carry was basically intended on being a gun good enough to compete with while practical enough to be an edc.
Worst case scenario if you regret it you can always sell it and get most of your money back I'm sure.

Did I pay to much

I hope I do this correctly. I just picked up a brand new Sig P320 C-9-BSS-MS for $499. My question is did I pay to much or get a great deal? I know some groups don’t like questions with dollar amounts if this isn’t a approved question please delete.

I'll answer my previous posting. I went with the 320 carry and X carry frame. I liked it better than the regular x carry, and accuracy wise they shot the same for me. I don't need the front cutout and I don't run red dots.

I like this setup so much, I just sold my X carry...:)
