Carry I in that last pic.

Carry II on the M18 here, but it's probably going on the X-Compact in that picture.

Taking it to the range tomorrow and verifying it's a better shooter than the Grayguns grip first. Ain't as pretty though.

Easy for me to justify. Didn't WANT another entire gun, didn't want to have an FFL wait, didn't want a manual safety, and didn't have to pay FFL fees or full firearms tax. Besides, if I had bought a full M18 new, I would have been selling the full M17 anyway, and would have had to throw in the 2 mags it came with in 2018.

Instead I sold just my 2018 production, extensively-used M17 slide and coyote grip module (with M17 rubber band and patch) on Ebay for $500 after fees and my shipping costs, and once again, no FFL hassles. I kept the original mags, obviously kept the FCU, the Romeo 1 Pro, AC Sport Takedown lever swapped right over, all my holsters still fit, etc.

So I basically got three new coyote OEM Italian mags, a brand new slide in a size I prefer, no manual safety, and fresher X-ray sights for $25. If Sig hadn't collected sales tax, it would have been a free upgrade.

Thanks! I was able to find an FDE Carry 1 module after I saw your picture. I have a Wilson Carry 2 module coming with the intent to use on my X-Carry, but I really donít like the way the Carry 2 module lines up with the slide in your picture.

Like you, the Wilson Carry 2 I ordered will go on an X-Compact. I have an abundance of 17 round magazines, will just have to find a couple of black floor plates. Maybe the X-Compact floor plates will work. Will experiment when modules arrive.

Sig now selling M17 X-Change kits too. Same price, same contents, but with M17 slide.

https://www.sigsauer.com/store/m17-c...hange-kit.html

And only 3 of the M18 kits left in stock.

Damn! Might have just did that with my 320 compact.
Oh well, for $155 more, I have another gun. But would have thought hard and probably just done this.

I am actually surprised they are not sold out. I purchased mine as soon as I opened the email from Sig, went to their site, and saw the kit. Holy moly...what a good present to myself.

1) With the M18 X-Change kit, did it come with the M18 rubber band?
2) Is the book it came, with the standard P320 book?
3) When you bought your M17, was the book for M17 alone? Or did it have M17 and M18?

No rubber band, no loss for me since it says US ARMY on it...I'm a Marine, damn it! No patch either.

M17 came with a yellow-trimmed "Pistol P320 M17" manual (that got soaked in a freak CLP accident so I threw it away). There was no M18 reference, but my M17 was an October 2018 build, don't think the M18 commercial models were even for sale then.

M18 X-Change kit came with a red-trimmed "P320 X-Series" manual, same one my April 2020 build X-Compact RXP came with.

EDIT: If you're looking for how-to info, there's nothing special about the civilian M17 and M18. The slides, RSA, barrels, striker, optics cut, etc are basically X-Full (M17) and X-Carry R2 (M18) just with the Non-X slide serration style. The FCU and internal parts are standard post-upgrade P320, with or without the manual safety.

Navy here... so I partly feel the same haha. But then there's the part of wanting it to add to the collection of stuff.

When I got my M18, it came with the P320 X-Series as your X-Change kit. When I got my Surplus M17, it had the same one as it sounds like your M17 came with. I ask because on SIGs site, it has an M17/M18 book.

I did a 24 MAU float on the old LPH-2.

But pretty sure that towel is from a Florida Walmart.

Well, flyboy here. Guess I'll be selling mine or taking a dremel tool to it and gouge USAF.

After 17 years in USAF SP LE, I’m just glad to see they gave today’s SF the M18 compact and not the full size M17...or worse, another little SW .38 like I carried 76-85 or a newer version of the old M9 Beretta as I carried from 85-93, after which I promoted to a rank that forced me to retrain.

That is what I carried along with the GAU. The 38's were accurate when you threw it at someone. How I scored marksman on that is beyond me.
