I understand that the M18 is for General Officers and CID for the Army. I was at an Air Force Base and the Security Forces have been issued the M18's.

Also the Coasties have opted for the M18's.

Her's a picture of mine with the Wilson Combat grip. For me it feels so much better in my hands. I also just fitted it with a DeltaPoint Pro and a GrayGuns Adjustable Straight trigger.

The band is pretty thick. Iím wondering if it serves an actual purpose for grip or is just advertising?
The band is only for presentation so you go wow when you open the box. Typically it gets left behind in the box. Some Sig bands are actually sold on ebay (yes, people buy them) if you don't want to leave it in the box.

It's also handy for holding the slide to an empty grip module when you use the FCU with another slide and grip.

Congrats, I just picked one up myself. I was talking with a buddy and he said some guns ask for a specific grain to shoot for the first 500 rounds for break in. Can anyone supply information on a grain to use for the M18, thanks!

Ammo is harder to come by right now in CT. My first 500 rounds were Federal 147 gr. It's what I had on hand. No malfunctions what so ever. I just found and purchased 2000 rounds 115 Blazer Brass for $9.90 a box of 50. Just put 200 rounds of the 115 Blazer thru the M18 and the gun like it a lot more. Again no malfunctions but the gun was more accurate.
