I had another loader that I always used on my P226 and P229... I can't even find it anymore online because every search pulls up the Maglula.

I had planned on just continuing to use the one I have for the last 20 years... but then I found out it didn't work on my new mags. Got the Maglula and it's even easier and quicker than my old setup.

I bought two (one for me and one for the wife) for pistols, two for AR-15 mags and a StripLula for my Mini-14.

It's not needed... it just makes it easier with a single stack.

Wow, never knew so many people were challenged in this way. The only time I've ever used an "assist" is to get the last round of 38 Super into an extended 32 round magazine for my open pistol.
Never found any issues with the SIG 320 mags; 17 or 21 round.
But then I am a man...and a Boomer. Guess we were cut from different cloth in those days.

Don't get "using an assist" confused with "can't"... I can load all my mags by hand as well. But if I can do it quicker and easier... work smarter, not harder.

Considering I loaded 4x 21 round mags, a 17 round mag, and 4 P89 17 round mags, my thumb is now bruised. The UpLula will make loading much easier, and typing less painful.

Sorry if I'm not manly enough for you, Boomer.

This^^^.

When you are loading 500 rounds a day, these steel mags take a toll on your fingers. Sure, all of us can load by hand. But when you are training and loading 33 mags why not save your fingers?

Ah well, I guess everything is relative. You guys talk like 500 rounds a day is a big thing. And it is in some respects, especially when you are paying for it. But I spent time on rifle teams (7.62 and 5.56) where the coach would drop off a CASE of ammo by each shooter, per day, for weeks!
Done similarly with pistol, long before LULA's were invented.
Just commenting, that I don't find loading magazines at all difficult or painful.
And yeah, poking fun at those that do. So what? We are all shooting and that is a good thing.

I have found that by far the best loaders for .22 magazines are the oblong plastic "push down" ones. Because of the slight differences in the way magazines are shaped, each brand of magazines requires its own specific push down loader.

Most of them are only $4 to $6, but I had to pay $20 for one for my Browning 1911-22. That is what happens when you buy a gun that is not as popular with very few after market "anythings."

Here is one for the Victory:

There are others. The most simple design is usually the best.

Can anybody recommend a loading assistant? I have the HKS for the P220 and my Ruger P89, and they kinda help, but are not the greatest. I haven't found anything for the P320 in .45 or the M17.

Thatís awesome my first gun was a P89 and itís still my go-to until Iím accustomed to the P320 which is the first new handgun Iíve bought in over 20 years.

If anyone is in the Pac NW, you can now get the Uplula at Bi-Mart.
