New P320 RXP will shroud be too high?

This is a discussion on New P320 RXP will shroud be too high? within the P250, P320, & P320 X-5 Pistols forums, part of the SIG Sauer Pistols category; The Pro Carry RXP I just received came with the shroud preinstalled. Looks perfect and will hopefully help with durability....

I went ahead and ordered the shroud. It should come pre-installed in my opinion considering the delicate nature of this optic.

I picked the weapon up today and got a quick 50 rounds through it. This is my first Sig and out of the box it shoots really well. It's also my first optic on a pistol and with some training I think I'll end up loving it. Happy with the purchase.

Did you get compact or full size. I've had my RX for about a year and a half and it's a beast. Congratulations, have fun!

I took the shroud off of my Romeo1pro today. (P320 X-carry) I like the look better and the cleaner view without light com between the shroud and optic. It’s also easier to press the side control buttons. So I like it... at least maybe until I drop it on a big rock!

I'm torn. I like the look when aiming without it but also like the idea of not having to buy another one if I drop or bump it hard.

Did you buy your gun to look at or to shoot? Personally, I don't Gucci out a gun. If it's not functional, I don't have it. I have guns to protect myself and others (and cuz it's FUN to shoot!).

I hear you. What I'm referring to is the thin bevel on the sight without the shroud vs the thicker "double" bevel with the shroud and how that might affect acquisition etc. I suppose training with the shroud would mitigate any undesired effects. I'll have to try it and see but I do prefer the idea of having a more battle ready weapon with the shroud.

I understand but shoot it a few times w/the shroud in place and after a few rounds, you'll never notice it. Like I said, I have a R1P (with the shround) on my X Compact. I'm about to see if anyone wants to trade the DPP on my X Carry for an R1P. I like it just that much.

Agree, the shroud does NOTHING to effect seeing the target. Think most commenting have not used one. Just speculation.

ROMEO1PRO M17

320 RX

Yes, just noticed shroud is off center. Will fix.

Awesome, thanks for all the help! Really appreciate the pictures and feedback! This is a great forum.

Did a quick 100 round lunch break at the range and I absolutely love this thing!

Here's another pic of the shroud. Note that if you order the FDE R1P, the shroud is still black instead of FDE.

I purchased a p320 x5 legion and truly enjoyed the dawson precision adjustable rear sight that came on it. It shot high when I received it but was able to zero with the rear sight elevation adjustment. My old eyes were started to have a problem focusing on the front sight so I ordered a romeo 1 pro. Due to sig not having in stock it took 3-4 months to ship. Saw a p320 x compact rxp with the optic so I purchased it. It always shot low, with the iron sight, had to adjust the red dot to max up to get near the center of the target. It is a fun gun but frustrating that I had to aim very high to get center of target with irons (I thought maybe the factory put the wrong sight combo on it, trading in for a beretta full size 92X that I put a deposit on yesterday. Hopefully the accuracy is better on yours. I had a shroud on both p320’s and it didn’t change point of impact much.

Interesting. I went to the range yesterday and didn't notice anything being too far off. I'm going back today after laser bore sighting my red dot at 25 yards last night. My zeroing at the range at 15 yards was only slightly off according to the laser.
