Yep I was shooting standing with 2 hands. I'll try the sand bag seated position next time. At 10 yards I was aiming at the top of my target to get just below the bullseye.
It's the sights. Basic P320s come with combat sights meaning you have to put the sights over the target.
You can easily adjust and get better with practice, but if you really can't stand it you need to buy a #8 front sight to replace the stock #6 front sight.
Frankly if you haven't fired a handgun in many years and likely not a striker design of this trigger system changing sights at this point is foolish. With the ammo availability I doubt that many rounds were fired.
More than likely it's your trigger control that's affecting the poi more than anything else.
Changing a sight a short distances will do little.
To figure out exactly how different numbered sights will change your POI as compared to your current sights, keep in mind that at 25 yards, each sight number change is “worth” one inch for the front sight and two inches for the rear sight. So at 25 yards:
Raising the front sight one number raises the POI by 1″
Lowering the front sight one number lowers the POI by 1″
Raising the rear sight one number raises the POI by 2″
Lowering the rear sight one number lowers the POI by 2″
I read a thread on this forum that asserts the barrel contacting the bottom of the slide is part of the pistol’s design. I think the author of the thread stated it was a “locking point”....or words to that effect.
Thanks for the replies. After a few more rounds I figured out that it's all me.
I'm still struggling with shooting it straight but here's the thing when I put my pointer finger of my support hand in front of the trigger guard holding the pistol in a very strange way the sights are dead on when shooting using combat style.
I still haven't broken it in yet it's got less than 50 rounds in it. At least I know it's not the gun.
I've been watching disassembly videos and I have to say I'm quite impressed with the way this p320 comes apart. Makes cleaning the gun super easy.
The the only thing is the grip isn't very comfortable for me I'm considering buying a Wilson grip maybe even shelling in the money for one of those micro conversion kits. There's no doubt in my mind I could fire that thing accurately with one of those conversion kits but adding a conversion kit to the price of the pistol brings it up to about $750.
Isn't that about the price of an AR?
