There are a variety of ways to add a red-dot option to your P365 line up. However, the most economic and flexible way is to simply buy Sig P365XL RXZ.

The cost to mill a slide is only about $100.

I love the way they shoot, handle, and are concealable.

I have already put an MCarbo spring kit, polished the trigger bar and some other areas, replaced the trigger with a Sig flat one and added a Manual Safety to the one that didn't have it...

At this point, I have a Halosun HS407A3 that I bought a little over a month ago. I believe the mounting is the same as the HS407X, so am planning on using it...

Good luck on your decision.

Just a heads up if you didn't know already: . The larger Holosun models that fit the compact and full-size pistols require a Trijicon RMR cut. IMHO The larger optics are too big for the micro-9's

Fabricated Arms just did my P365 slide cut and they have the correct milling for the NEW Holosun 407K/507K micro red dots; made specifically for micro-9's like SIG P365 and Hellcat and have the same footprint as the Romeo Zero and Shield RMSc (although the lug heights may need modification)

The new micro pattern (like 365XL) will undoubtedly be the standard for micro 9 pistols, and any new intros will probably adopt this pattern so you'll be good to go. It's a small enough footprint so it can mill in front of your existing rear sight. I think they'll also offer a filler plate (like on Hellcat) so you'll have the option of irons or RDS, but it's quite useable as below with or without a filler, while I wait for my RDS to finally ship.

If you're thinking of adding a red dot, or already have on on your pistol, this dude at Sage Dynamics has some good videos out on the subject.
Just like anything else, you gotta practice.

If you're wanting to try your optic out on the P365 without permanently altering it, you may consider one of the Dovetail Red Dot mounts that replace your rear sight...

Outerimpact Red Dot Adapter Mount for Sig Sauer P365

I also think EGW sells the mounts...

Just an option...

Yes something to try.
But you'll still need to buy a good optic that can withstand the G forces of a reciprocating slide.
(a moving slide can generate up to 5000 G's of force).

With the extra height of the dovetail Adapter mount the Optic will sit up pretty high. It would give you an idea, but it's not really an effective permanent set-up like milling low and locking down. For $100 you can mill a P365, mount properly and keep your irons intact. I actually purchased an additional P365 slide assembly so I can switch from irons to RDS in seconds.

If you just want to 'try' a dot...

My first red dot was 5 years ago. I mounted one on the top pic rail of a 22 pistol just to see if I liked the dot. Because the top rail on a 22 doesn't move I could use an inexpensive red dot like the $40 Browning with a pic mount. I still have it so it wasn't money wasted and it convinced me to add red dots to all but my 'classic' pistols. YMMV

The R Zero is a step in the right direction. Much better than the Shield IMHO especially for the money, but it has a plastic lens that scratches easily and the tiny light adjustment is hard to reach.

I would be remiss if I didn't ask if you've looked at the Holosun 407K or 507K optic for about the same cost. Glass lens, motion on-off, easier light adjustment, same footprint??

Just say'in
Quite honestly, I have never looked into them. However, I certainly will now. Thanks for the input.

Hey DocS,

Thanks for the input. I truly believe I am leaning towards milling my P365 and adding a Romeo Zero. If I really don't like it, which I doubt I will, then I will simply have to purchase another P365

I really love the smaller frame for our temperature and t-shirt attire.

Any long term red dot usage on the 365? Curious to see how it is going.

I have a Shield RMSc 8MOA, 2 Shield SMSc 4MOA, 3 Romeo Zero's 6MOA....all have been fine to date. The Romeo 0's dot's aren't very sharp, I don't care for the tiny button to adjust the brightness level. The Shield RMSc 8MOA has the glass lens, autobrightness but never turns off...if it had shake awake it would be perfect. I have 2 507K on order...I love my 508 so I am eagerly awaiting my 507's...circle dot is perfect for carry....just perfect

365 and 365 XL slides are for sale on GB and such.
Then pick up an RZ or Shield later.

That's what I did. And getting the slide first I have the sight and plate should the dot take a dump.

I use the same holster for the 365 and 365 XL RZ, a Versacarry.

Good looking set up. The Versa Carry accommodates the RDS? What size did you get for the P365? I didn't see the option on their site.
