P365XL barrel wear

New P365XL owner. Gun is April 2020 manufacture date. Have put approximately 600 rounds through gun at range, mostly federal 115 grain FMJ with no issues whatsoever. Gun is accurate and flawless so far.

Have noticed wear on slide and barrel in areas that others have noted on forum and know to expect this to some extent. Wanted to know If wear I’m experiencing on bottom of barrel near lug is unusual or normal for the gun. Have seen others with top barrel wear but not been able to find any photos really posted by others of the bottom of barrel. Wear seems to be from recoil spring rubbing against barrel. Top of barrel seems pretty good.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Interesting. Any wear on the recoil spring? None of my guns, Sig or otherwise, have that type of wear.

You’re not using any type of solvent that could be affecting barrel finish?

Recoil spring looks fine. Used hoppes solvent and oil at first but switched to Gibbs lubricant and gun butter recently. Wear was visible with hoppes products too.

My P365XL barrel has similar wear from the barrel contacting the recoil spring. I have about 3000 rounds through it and been using it for EDC for about 8 months. I don't think it has anything to do with solvents or lubricants.

Didn’t really think so either, just exploring, I do own guns that warn about using certain solvents and lubricants on their finishes (cough, cough. Dan Wesson).

Normal. The recoil spring assembly does it; hurt nothing.
The couple stray marks on the barrel hood are normal also.
