Selling my 43X for an XL...

I enjoy shooting my regular 365 so much Iíve decided to go XL w/MS (not here to debate about that) for my trail/winter carry. Now Iím debating on getting the Romeo 0 or ordering the holosun. What do you guys with experience with these optics think is the best to do? Also whatís your thought on going from the 43x to the XL (out of curiosity). Iíve already made up my mind on the switch. I just like to hear other peopleís opions and have friendly conversation.

Smart move on the p365xl.

Sig Romeo Zero is designed, marketed, and assembled in Oregon... Shield optics are made in and sourced in Britain. Hol(o)sun is a china communist owned company, and I know you know all that china is guilty of over the last ten years: theft of military secrets, theft of tens of millions of identity info of Americans, cold war on the free world, and now the Wuhan pandemic they intentionally allowed to spread globally... All of that is personal and not political for mature sane adults.

It's not so much about where stuff is made- it's about not buying stuff from "companies owned and controlled by communist china".

Enjoy your p365XL.

I'm keeping both the 43X and my P365 with an XL grip module. I like how forgiving the 43X is of a sloppy grip in an stressful situation. Sometimes the 365 won't lock back on the last round if my grip isn't just right. I changed to the XL grip hoping it would rectify the problem. I want to know exactly how my weapon will function every time in a critical situation. I also like how light the 43X is, but I like the 15-round magazine in my 365.
Anyway, I like both and won't ever part with either one.

Can’t speak to Holosun, but Romeo 1 on my P229 Legion RX and Romeo Zero on my P365 XL RX have been flawless. Might suggest you try and find a P365XL-RX with Romeo Zero factory installed. Might save a few bucks!

Reposting my reply in a previous thread on why I traded my G43X for a P365XL:

I shoot mostly 9mm in USPSA (high D/39% in Production) with my G19.5. I average around 2,500 rounds a year, between matches and training classes. I wear size M gloves.

I bought a G43X under the GSSF program last year. I added an Overwatch Precision trigger, NP3 coated safety plunger and connector. I had it for 8 months, and had 608 rounds through it at the time I sold it.

The pluses for the G43X for me were:

- Compatibility with my training pistol
- Rock solid reliability; I had no malfunctions
- "Glock" simplicity, meaning I had everything for it already; sight pushers, front sight tool, etc.
- Ability to add a Striker Control Device aka "Gadget" to "thumb the hammer" on holstering.

Minus for the G43X were:

- Mag incompatibility with my G19. I had to buy a bunch of new 10 round mags.
- Perceived recoil impulse was sharper than I preferred, especially with carry ammo e.g. Federal HST 147 or Speer Gold Dot 124+p
- Longer G19 grip length, plus the Glock Mag design meant it printed more than I preferred, for a carry gun (both in a JM Custom Kydex IWB 3 and an RCS Perun; my two carry holsters)
- An odd situation where I could not settle on a front sight height to have POI match POA at 25 yards; I tried both 0.165" and 0.180" high, both and neither were satisfactory at times with carry ammo.

In the end, carrying 10+1 juice was not worth the squeeze. If I could carry the G43X, I found I could carry the G19, in fact, so why not carry the G19. And the recoil impulse always bugged me. I never, really, enjoyed shooting it.

The gun I traded the G43X in on was my current P365XL. This was based on an extremely positive experience shooting my partner's P365 occasionally over the past year. The little Sig was "just" this much too small in the grip. So I bought the P365XL. So far, I have only Dry Practice through it, and one range session of 140 rounds.

Pluses for the P365XL:

- The grip fits me like James Bond in a Savile Row Dinner Jacket.
- The expanded magwell appeals to me from a USPSA point of view, to aid reloads under time
- The standard "real" night sights as opposed to the plastic dovetail protectors in Glocks
- The standard slide cut to affix a dot e.g. R0 or Holosun is extremely attractive to me
- At 12+1 and the same or smaller grip length over the Glock is a plus, frankly
- The gun seems to shoot bigger than it is, and carry smaller than it is. It's weird.
- Mags do not require the Jaws of Life to remove the basepads, like in Glocks
- Much less perceived recoil, in particular with carry ammo

Minuses are:

- Mags are more than double the cost of Glock Mags
- The FCU to frame fit on my gun is slightly off, in that the FCU moves just a hair fore and aft in the frame in Dry Practice that it is noticeable just before the break.

...and that's about all I can think of so far.

I have another range session with the P365XL soon. I will be switching my USPSA rig over to shoot the Sig. I have adjusted my Ghost mag pouches already and am waiting on a Comp-Tac holster shell to attach to my BS D/OH mount on my belt.

If this works out, chances are high I will trade the G19 in for a second P365XL dedicated to EDC. I will then shoot the stuffing out of the first one, and after validating functionality with carry ammo, just keep the second gun for EDC. I'm also watching the evaluations on the MRDS options; the Holosun 507k seeming to lead the pack so far.

Regardless of Lancer's politics, after putting ~400 rounds through the XL with the Zero, I'd wave you off on that sight unless it's just being used as a range toy.
It's poorly designed for carry use. The brightness controls are horrific and the lens is fragile (scratches easily).
If you want the best optic for your gun, go with the 507k.
Unless of course Lancer is offering to buy you a new optic if you have buyers remorse.
Then go for it!

I was carrying the P365 in a PCS pocket holster and the 365XL on my belt; using 15-rd. magazines as my reload. They replaced my G19/G26 carry combo. I have since gone back to the Dark Side with a G48 and G43X, both using the Shield Arms S15 magazines to replace the factory 10-rounders. (You have to replace the factory Glock magazine catch with a metal one. I used Shield Arms'.) I am also running "The Gadget" for re-holstering safety.

I never had any problems with my P365s, but the G48 and G43X are slimmer and sleeker. The Shield Arms magazines work flawlessly. I have now 15+1 in my primary and BU guns and am in IPSC Unlimited territory with the Shield Arms +5 (20-rd.) magazines for reloads. Granted, the grip(s) are larger, there is no light rail, and no RDS plate (yet), but I'm not playing internet commando and I can see the Trijicon HD sights I had installed just fine. YMMV.

Must be something to it, just sold a 48 and picked up an XL about a week ago and have absolutely no regrets.

I should have noted I had 2 shield arms mags that I sold already. I liked the flush fit 15 round mags for range use but for a carry pistol I like leaving everything factory (outside of sights). I feel the Sig is the complete package with 12 round flush fit mags and I already have 15 round mags (sig made) option. The trigger is leaps and bounds better with the Sig. No need for an apex or polydat trigger. The optic cut is already there. The manual safety is a bonus for me.

I’ve always been mainly a Glock guy 43/43x/26/27. Lately I’ve been enjoying my Sig more and plan on adding a 320 legion after the XL. Nothing against Glock but I just have really enjoyed the sigs I’ve owned.

Edit - I’ve already sold a 19...trying to slim down a bit and make room for more sigs... XD

It's great to have choices. Go with what works for you. I have not sold my P365s, either, but did sell all of my Glocks except my G20, a Gen 3 G19, and a Gen 5 M34. I am also selling off my HK pistolas, with only a P30 and P30L remaining to be sold off.
