P365 Disassembly Issue

Hey Folks. I just switched the grip module on my P365 successfully without any hitches, however now I can't disassemble the gun.

The takedown lever moves fine, but the slide release wont move, and the slide wont move when the takedown switch is down. I can reset the takedown lever and it functions as normal. It functions and shoots just fine, but I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't disassemble any more. Any thoughts?

I lubed it up well, and even applied a small amount of persuasion via leverage, and it still won't move.

Haven't changed any other parts and have shot 1000 rounds through the gun so everything is broken in except the new frame.

Just some random thoughts:

Does it have a safety? Is it set to the "fire" position?

The slide is locked to the rear, the slide release is up, you can rotate the takedown lever clockwise, and then you can't pull the slide to the rear and release the slide?

Is it possible during the removal of the FCU you sprung something?

The takedown lever will move but the slide stop will not?
But the slide cycles/shoots normally. The slide stop engages on an empty mag? Hmmm.
Who made the grip module?

There's a little arm of a spring that fits over the slide release in the FCU chassis. From what you describe, I think you've knocked it loose. As in it is no longer sitting where it should and providing the necessary tension for the slide release. I have experience with this because I did it to mine the second time I disassembled mine for cleaning. I had removed the FCU so I could give it a proper cleaning and managed to knock the wire out of place. I was able to get a hold of my contact at SIG customer service, who is also a P365 armorer and he was able to talk me through it.

If this is what happened, you just need to take the FCU back out, identify the arm and gently lift it back into place over the slide release on the side of the FCU. Then put the FCU back in the gun and you should be good to go.

Can the FCU be pivoted out of place with the slide attached?
