I'm thinking of putting one on my Ruger AR556. Opinions on Amazon look good but I was wondering what the consensus on the sight is on the forum? Does it hold zero well and is it rugged enough for use in the field where it might get an occasional bump? Any other thoughts?
I ran a Romeo4C on one of my ARs for a quite a long time with a 3x magnifier. Worked just fine. Ended up swapping it out with a Vortex 1-8x24 Strike Eagle that I found was a better 100+ yard solution (more accurate).
I recently completed building my dream AR15 equipped the way I want it with out any extra bell and whistles that were unwanted or unnecessary. Having said that, I selected a Romeo 5 as my optical sight along with backup MBUS folding sights. After some 200 rounds of heavy 69 gr target loads, my Romeo 5 has been perfect in all respects. I did have to re-tighten the mounts once after initial installation though. I say go for it!
The Romeo5 is on sale locally at a very good price, and I am thinking about getting one for my AR-15. These were on the rifles we used at Sig Sauer Academy and they seemed to be a decent RDS.
I have a Romeo 5 xds on my S&W M&P 15T and it has held zero through 2 different classes and over 2000 rounds of hard use. I plan on putting them on all my future AR builds.
I have one on my patrol rifle and it has been great.
