How do you carry your P227?

Thought about picking up a carry version of the 227 or even the 220 but already have a 227ESE. Not enough difference in size to me, all are same height and width and the extra length and weight doesn't matter to me for carry. Thinking a good kydex holster at 4:00 would do the trick. JM Custom Kydex holsters I have really hold close to the body so before I order one for the 227, thought I'd get a few opinions.

I carry mine in a Mitch Rosen at 4:00. It works well as long as you have a good belt. UBG also makes a good holster for a great price

I carry my P227 SAS Gen2 in a Wright Leather Works Predator OWB holster, on Beltman belt, between 3 and 4 o'clock. Very comfortable setup for me. I also have chosen to carry Speer Gold Dot 185gr ammo to keep the weight closer to my M11-a1, which I carry most of the time. Love the P227 set up.

I love leather holsters. Have quite a few from TT Gunleather so leather is an option. I personally find it is easier to pull the gun from a good kydex, less friction. Definitely going OWB which I failed to mention. This is for cooler weather carry so will be under a heavier shirt so concealing will be easier.

I have good belts from Beltman and Wilderness(Instructor 5-stitch).

Have two horsehide holsters from Kramer for my P227 SAS. Both OWB, one is cross draw which I prefer when driving.

Seems like I post once per week recommending ST Members check out DM Bullard's "Bodyguard." Leather, OWB, pancake-style, 25 degree cant (awesome!), custom-made.

I originally bought one for my M11, a 229 w/o Rail in their catalogue, but my 227 Carry SAS fits it perfectly (not unlike Jonzim's Wright Leather Predator above).

Check out Bullard's "In Stock" section, as they almost always stock the Bodyguard for most SIGs. $85 plus S&H and you have a great piece in days. I've got about 4 of 'em.

Worth a look.

Good question - P227 SAS is a great carry 45!! Such a capable weapon deserves a strong prop in its pic too.

Here's 227 SAS in her StealthGear ride, a fav winter carry here...

my options

I carry in an Alien gear IWB at 4 o'clock or in a safariland OWB at 3 o'clock. The 227 is such a great gun, all the great things from the 220 with the added capability of a double stack mag. I carry with a 10 rounder with 2 14 rounders as backup.

Is that a full-size 227 holster? I don't see a 227 Carry length holster on their site

I have a CF Serpa that is very comfortable and my favorite owb. Then I have a Galco leather shoulder rig that is perfect for cooler weather or any action adventure cop movie. The P227 in that rig looks "movie cool". A Bianchi tan leather "Texas Ranger" holster is great for general carry.

I'm a leather man, OWB, my Mitchell Rosen with a thumb break is perfect for me and my 227 sas. A good sturdy belt is a must.

I've had this holster several years and don't have SG's specific model. This same holster also fits our P220 Compact, our original SIG carry weapon. So, am guessing this is SG's P220 Carry holster.

Hope this helps

Cheers
