Hi all, I have an X5 competition and am considering selling/trading for an All Around. I had a 220 Sport for range shooting that I loved but thought I would prefer the comp. Turns out it's not the case but I do want to stick with 9mm. The comp is a great gun but for my needs I think the All Around may be better and the DA/SA action is the same as many of my other pistols while I don't really shoot any other SAO guns. Does anyone have any insight as to a comparison of the two? Are they about the same accuracy wise? Does one fit into more competitive classes than the other? TNA

Sent an email to Gray Guns to see if they could convert the comp to AR. Seems folks ruitinely go from DAK to DA/SA and vice versa. Not sure how much more needs to be done in this case. Should be interesting to see their response.

Seems the folks at Gray Guns can do the conversion (Sig Sauer says it can not be done and won't attempt it) but the price is likely way more than just selling the comp and buying an AR which is about $300 less than the comp to begin with. So anybody want to buy a very lightly used X5?

I'm lucky I guess.

I debated & debated and finally bought the P226 X5 "all Around"

Mine is a very sound gun and a great shooter.

My friend owns your model X5 and likes his better

I'll probably just end up buying an all around as well. Love the X5 series I'm just not sure if I would ever shoot the other one if I had both and preferred one over the other.

I love my Allround. I wanted both DA and SA, though and that creates some trigger smoothness compromises, although even with them the gun has the smoothest trigger I own, except for an old S&W Target Masterpiece revolver.

Me too. I think I'm going to wait and see if it proves true. It was also reported on an other sig forum.

Hey Don, NICE Sig my friend! Simply BEAUTIFUL! If i may make a request, could you please Post Pictures of the Front/ Rear Sights? I have been dying to see like a 360 view of the allround. I am debating on whether to get one myself. A few questions:

1) How does the Grip width feel? I have a 220 and even though it is also a DA/SA, the slim frame + Grip is amazing. The regular 226 lineup seems to have more of a Bulky feel for me (although i can live with it). I was hoping the X5 lineups had a more slimmer size.

2) Is the barrel really 5 or 6? Theres been videos posted stating 6. SIG website says 5.

3) I know this is probably a dumb Q, but have you EVER had any FTF, FTE, etc?

4) Which Brand ammo do you prefer, or works Best with the X5? 115grain, 124?

Thanks in advance!

I guess this is the gun they were referring to:

http://triebel-shop.com/product_info...a8237b0ea78635

Same as All Around but black with standard sights.

Spartan, I can give you some feedback based on my X5 Comp. Grips are very similar to the 226 more rounded than the 220, the barrel is 5 inches on the X5 and 6 inches on the X6, I have never had any issue with mine, and I've shot lots of different brands/weights all being surprisingly consistent.

I don't think it was ever stated which you were looking at, but my X Five is in .40 S&W, and comments should be taken in that context. I have had zero FTE/FTF in my first thousand rounds.

I have not fired the X Five in 9mm. Sorry for any confusion.

How come they don't come with extended mags???

Too big for the box, so you couldn't use them to compete with?

The comp and the L1 come with the extended 19 round mags with the silver base plate the all around and tactical come with regular 226 mags. The all around is very close to fitting and others have reported it does stock but most smiths trim the tails a bit so there is no question. The also can remove weight from the dust cover, trigger guard and tail to come under the limit.
