You really need to try both to see for yourself if possible.

I rented the P30 a number of times and it just did not work for me mainly being the trigger not nearly as good as the number of SIGs I own. So I went with the SP2022 and could not be happier and price was not the consideration in my comparison. I may not own a P30 some day as it is a great gun but I prefer my SIGs.

I am amazed as how well I can shoot my 9MM SP2022 as it is right there with my P226s and my P228 which is saying a lot and those are the most accuarte pistols in my hands outside a nice 1911. I have about 1000 rounds through my SP2022 with NEVER a problem and on another forum members have over 30,000 rounds through theirs without a single issue.

I am a die hard SIG lover but I would also suggest that you look at the Walther P99 AS and PPQ if you have a chance. They are also amazing poly pistols in the $550 - $600 price range with abolutely fantastic triggers and my choice in pistols next to SIG.

Good luck and let us know what you go with and how you like it.

Here is a target from my last range trip with my SP2022 - 15 rounds at 25 feet offhand. I have put the standard trigger on my SP2022 replacing the "short" trigger it came with.

Undoubtedly, LMAO. Have you ever shot a 2022 with a trigger job? I doubt it.

Secondly the Secret Service and Seals use Sig P Series. My point was if they were the best then why do so many departments use Sigs and Glocks over H&K's? Air Marshals use Sigs, Secret Service still does, as do the Seals (226's) so why aren't they using H&K's? Preference and cost.

They aren't the best. You've just been sold on the hype. H&K's are fine weapons but the best they aren't. Owners of these guns, just like some Glock owners, profess this because they own them and/or they prefer them, that doesn't make it true. Instead of hype filled statements why don't you provide some proof. If they are so good why do so many LEA and Military use handguns other than H&K.

Fanboy is true, you are. You can sell that **** down at 7-11 because it's not selling here.

Really Glockslide, cause there's more than a few of us laughing at you too brother.

Have you ever shot a P30 with a trigger job? I doubt it.

Secondly, I'm honestly not sure what the secret service uses anymore, cause they change weapons as often as you do your underwear(I hope). Dude, the SEALs use WHATEVER THEY WANT, and from my understanding, MOST of them prefer the HK Mk23 Mod0, and now the newly released HK Mk24 Mod 0 which is a HK45c with a threaded barrel, also known as the HK45ct(combat Tactical) for civilian use. Also, the last I heard, Air Marshals are allowed to carry whatever they want as well, and I currently know an Air Marshal, and he carries an HK P2000SK V2 LEM in .40, because they're NOT allowed to carry .357SIG chambered models due to over penetration.

Prison guards are still issued full size HK USPf V7 LEM models with Jet-Funnels and 18rd. LE mags, and the US Border Patrol are still issued HK P2000 V2 LEM .40's.

There's plenty of agencies that use HK dude...

I'm not sold on hype, just personal experience, and I have a decent amount of that at least.

Like I said, I own all sorts of different stuff, including some lower end stuff, but I prefer HK over everything else(so far), so that doesn't really constitute a "fanboy."

Chill out bro, I'm NOT knocking SIG.

Cause my Tactical Operations is quickly climbing the ladder as one of my favorite handguns, and soon I'm also gonna be carrying a SigPro model as a duty weapon.

Both are fine guns.

That said the Sig P2022 was one of the best kept secrets in the Sig world.

But not so much so now .. they are a hot item.

We have 4 SP2022's in all calibers in our family.

2 Greman & 2 American (no noticed difference in quality) .

Each of them as good as the other.

We've never had a problem with any of the four guns.

I own a lot of Sig's and my 2022 has a right from the factory excellent trigger.

well, I was going to pick up the sig pro just because of the price and I wanted another Sig but i'm going tomorrow to fondle and shoot an m&p9L. I kind of wanted another hammer gun but ive got a great smith who does great things with smith trigger. ...I'll probably not be able to decide on anything. :'(

I'd choose a P30L or SP2022 any day of the week over the M&P.....

There is a guy on our local Forum that makes a custom Sear that is out of this world. It completely changes the gun and it's only $40 w/ him installing it. I would not ever consider the M&P if it wasn't for his sear.

I went to the gun shop today and absolutely fell in love with the trigger on the Sig Pro. It is 3x the trigger that is on my P226. I couldn't believe it. It took all the will power I had not to leave the store with it. I'm an impulse buyer so I'm really trying to show some restraint. I hate buying and regretting.

My vote still goes to either the SP2022, or P30L over the M&P.

If given the chance to shoot all three side by side, I'll bet the SIG or HK would be going home with you, and the M&P would stay at the range.

I put a WTB on my local board for an sp2022. I'm sure I wont be disappointed and if I am, it'll just be another lesson I learned. lol I would really like to find the two tone model. If I can't find the two tone, Palmetto Armory has them for $349 for the standard model and my local shop has them w/ night sights for $449.

While I'm NOT at liberty to say who, a close friend of mine out of SC has designed, and is testing .22 kits on the HK P-series handguns.

Current testing is being done on a 9mm. P30L V3 DA/SA frame, and a .40 P30 V2 LEM frame.

Damn I can't wait for him to finish these.....

That would be a cool option for people that need or want to shoot .22. I don't have any use for it.

I went with the Sig. It is very nice in hand so far. I haven't shot it yet and probably wont have time to shoot it much untill after I buy my next gun, lol. I'm trying to decide on a .45 now. :0) I'll make another thread on it.

Not a terible deal though, a new pro with night sights for 430 OTD.

I'll head out in a bit to shoot a few rounds. Although it wont be much w/ a single Kalifornian 10 rounder.. LoL
