That configuration ... shorter Bbl. In 9mm.would be a fine balancing pistol.
Chambered in 9mm. it would get a bit more use, as well.
Definitely, a worthy addition to ones arsenal.

How much are they asking for them?

EDIT: I just noticed that the picture is of a standard P229. The specs listed do look to be for a Carry model, though.

Back when they were doing these as LE guns in 40 and 357 Sig only, I decided I needed one and sought out the SAS model. Came with SigLites, SRT kit, and of course the SAS treatment. I will admit I'm guilty of it still being NIB in my safe.

At any rate, just last week I ran across one of the 9mm versions at my LGS. Called Sig CS and they told me they were indeed only limited edition and 40/357Sig only. So I told them about the one I found.

Long story short, I prefer 9mm, and so now I have that one too. No doubt it will get an SRT kit and probably XRay sights, and most likely stay NIB too. I paid more for the 9mm than I did the 40 SAS. But I had to have it.

I did a price request from Bud's, and it came in at $807

Nothing on Sig's website about them. But ThnkFrst has put out some good info on them on here, though he had issues with his and Sig just replaced it (if you followed that thread).

I waited too long to get one in 357 and thought they were gone. Are you saying they will be back in production?

They are pretty much selling this to blow out all of the 224 slides and barrels since the 224 was discontinued.

How long will 229c/224 parts be available. Will they continue to make recoil springs?

My intent for the P229C was to use it as a "heavy carry" and HD piece which meant it would be exercised often.

With that in mind and recognizing that it was a limited edition model based heavily on another model that was being discontinued, my plan was to invest more heavily in spares than I would normally do. My focus was on those unique P224/229C parts that could deadline the pistol and be hard to find in the future; guide rod, takedown lever, trigger bar, barrel and locking insert were on my list.

Sadly, the 229C was taken from me…but happily before I invested too heavily in spares.

This picture looks like just a regular P229 with e\E2 grip....which on the Sig sight is called the P229 'Compact'...??

https://www.sigsauer.com/store/p229-nitron-compact.html

In fact, pretty much all the P229's have 'Compact' attached to their names now. Maybe Buds just has the wrong picture.

The pic isn't correct but it is a 229 carry. Description is 3.5 inch barrel and G10 grips.

I would hope they would maintain a supply of the parts. I wouldn't be too surprised to find the new 225a1 actually uses the same RSA as the 224/229c, since they share a common size. I know the new 225a1 is based off of the P239 rather than the P220 the original is.

I may be getting a 224 extreme in the coming weeks and I know Cabelas is blowing out their stock of 224 accessories. I should be able to get spare 12 round and 10rd 40 mags for about 25 a piece. I just paid $26 each for the 15rd mags with the grip sleeves.
