So after posting this and deciding to order a P320, I run across this today and it follows me home.

P229C in 9mm. The odd thing is that I can't find anywhere online where the carry came in 9mm. It is only listed in 40 or 357. Which strikes me as odd.

Got it NIB for $800.

Congrats! There was a discussion about the 9mm P229 not too long ago.

Was able to get it out to the range and put a few hundred rounds through it. Nice shooter, as all P229's are. Really like the feel of the G10 grip's and the different contour. Kinda like a P226.

What I did not like is three things;

- Short reach trigger - pinched my finger if I did not watch my push placement on the back of the trigger guard. I guess I am really used to having that Gray Guns trigger on my others 229's.

- Non-SRT - gonna have to order a kit. Reset was not bad, but I have gotten really used to the SRT.

- DA spring - holy **** it was stiff. May need a lighter spring.

Interesting note, this is the first 229 with the flat recoil spring. No real noticeable difference, although I did have one spent round not fully eject and blocked the action. So I guess I have to note that as 1 FTF. First ever on a Sig.

Great grab. I wanted the 9mm conversion kit for my SAS 40 but they are no longer in production, (hence your 229 carry 9mm). I thought the flat recoil spring on my 40 was kinda light but it's been reliable, no issues.

Gray Guns trigger ordered - check!
SRT Kit ordered - check!
19 pound hammer spring ordered - check!

Ok, that should whip this little beauty into shape.

I will be selling a short reach trigger here pretty soon if anyone needs one. Really nice contour. but not for my big meat hooks.

I know you guys are going to think I am nuts, but now I am going to need to come up with a reason I need to keep the P229 Legion. After picking up that P229 in 357 and now this one, while I really like the Legion, it is rendered a bit redundant.

But then, the safe needs something in it other than my Beretta's.,

Congratulations. They are very nice shooters, glad you like it.

I have to agree with you on the grips, they are the nicest design that I've felt on a SIG. Not just the G10 material (which I'm a huge fan of) and shape, but the way the grip panels lock together and to the frame. Add to that the grip screw bushings that let you torque them down firmly without fear of stripping the aluminum frame. They give the pistol a very solid feel.

I would recommend getting ahold of some spare grip screw bushings as I did have one crack on me making it unusable. Luckily I had some in my spares that I got from SIG and it was a quick changeout. I'd recommend to all 229C/224 owners to invest in spares as I'm getting the sense that when the parts are gone, they are gone for good.

I have to agree with you on the thin (a.k.a., short reach) trigger. I've tried it on three different models and it just does not work for me. I'm not real familiar with the GG trigger, but if it's shaped at the top by the trigger bar pin hole like the standard Trigger-6 that I put in my 229C, you might see some contact with the locking lug on the barrel during recoils. I had to rework the top of the trigger to shape it like the short reach trigger to get it to clear.

Was the FTE you had with target or SD ammo?

Below is a pic of the Gray Guns P-Series Precision Adjustable Intermediate Trigger (P-SAIT) that comes on the Legion series. I have added them to my other P229 and P220. Really is a very nice addition.

The FTE was probably more me than either the gun or ammo. I was using run of the mill Remington ball ammo (115).

I wanted to take advantage of the 20% off Sig Optics sale and get some of the X-Ray's but they did not have them for the P229. In fact, they were not listed for the 229 at all.

I carried the 229C the rest of the day and it carries as easily as my PX4 Storm Compact. It is a little lighter than either of my other 229's and sits well in the Crossbreed Supertuck.

Pretty happy with the purchase.

I too have the PX4 compact along with the P229C SAS. Both are great carry pistols. I also changed out the short reach trigger but with the standard trigger. They are both a pleasure to shoot.

look again at Gun Broker under 229C. There is more than a simple slide swap going on with this limited production gun. I have one in 40s&w sweet.

After looking over my other P229's I agree. The slides will not interchange as they and the frames are different.

Pretty happy I scored this one.

The only real issue after shooting and handling it is that there must be a 24# hammer spring in the thing. The DA pull is brutal! 19# on the way.

I am hoping that the P320 I scored on GB gets here early this week as I really want to test my 229's against this new (to me) variant.

I have never owned a striker fired gun, or shot one for that matter, I am curious to see if I it can sway me from my 229 love.

While I am not pumped about everything on the new 229c, it feels so good that with a little noted massaging of parts it should be my best yet and the perfect EDC.

Carrying it this weekend it felt really nice on the hip. Not too heavy and not to large, it was juuuust right.

Gonna take a lot to get me to be a convert, but the modularity of the 320 is really attractive. With just a little investment you can have a lot of variations of that platform.
