After shooting only one box of 357 Sig rounds out of my 239 last week I noticed the barrel has a small burr or gouge on it & on the inside of my frame rail towards the top on the left side of the rail the barrel has been hitting it & gouging the rail... from inspection It looks to me when a round is fired the barrel is putting dents in both the barrel & the inside of the frame.. It is a Sig factory barrel in perfect condition & the gun was generously lubed & dirt free..
If You lay the barrel on top of the locking block there is some side to side movement but not excessive, seems normal to me but when firing the gun it must be moving enough to gouge the frame rail & barrel.
I would think it may be a barrel fit-ment issue, But it seems like the barrel fits in the slide nicely & no rattles & moves freely & I've checked the barrel bushing thinking everything seems fine, I guess I can file down the burr on the barrel & hope the problem doesn't get any worse..

If the burr is on the 357 barrel, breaking it in with 40S&W won't do anything for you. As you indicated, I would also lean toward removing the burr on the barrel to prevent any further gouging if that is the cause.May not hurt to call anyway, maybe they could offer to assist, who knows?

Guess what I meant to say was maybe I'll run some 40 cal through it.

I think the best answer to my problem is When the slide is traveling rearward the barrel may be digging into my frame.. That makes more sense to Me... Maybe the barrel needs refitting to the slide..

Didn't have any damage to the gun until I dropped in the 357 Cal barrel & shot it.... Theres only been 50 357 Sig cal rounds fired from this gun,
Something isn't right... Then gun shouldn't show this much wear or be damaged after 50 rounds.. Guess I'll give Sig a call..
