G-10 Grips for M11-A1

Just got a Sig P229 M11-A1 and want to replace the grips with Hogue G-10.
Several variations I considered. Any thoughts between these 3 choices below from anyone that has replaced them, regarding thickness or too rough texture for EDC.

- Hogue Checkered G10 - Black grips.
- Hogue Piranha G-10 Solid Black or
- Hogue Piranha G-10 G-Mascus Black/Grey

I prefer the checkered G10's as they look more like the stock SIG grips from the 80's. I've read the Piranha's are the most aggressive. Both of my carry guns have G10 with no issues regarding them being too aggressive against my skin. Here's my P229 which will have the same grips as your M11-A1:

I agree with bblr. I have the black checkered on my 226s as well. Looking to get some now for my 229s. I think they blend in much better than the other patterned ones.

Here's my W. German P226 with stock grips so you can see how similar they look to the G10's:

Ahh man, those look even better than the newer ones. Wish they were still available. Nice.

I just today put the black G10 checkered on mine. They are quite "grippy", and very nice. I've never tried any of the others for comparison...

Here is what the Black/Gray look like..... Also put a Grayguns P-SAIT trigger on it to replace the short reach trigger.

I have put the G-10 Piranha on my Mk25 and waiting for a sale again before getting them for the M11. I have tried the checkered and just didn't like them. I suppose if you didn't like them you could always sell them here.

The only thing I don't like about the G10s is if they run against the body, it causes a good bit of discomfort. So make sure if you plan to carry it you limit the exposure to your skin.

I do have a friend though that does not like any of the G10s other than the Legion grips.

I guess all I'm saying is YMMV and you really need to try them out and see which pattern you like the best.

I'm with you on swapping out the OEM grips on the M11A1. Those things are pretty cheesy IMO.

Here's my new M11A1 with Hogue G10 black Piranhas and 357 SIG CALX slide mounted. I've tried Hogue "Chainlink" grips but found them to be too lumpy. Haven't tried the checkered so no reference point. If any of the patterns are too aggressive for your needs, they can be sanded down.

Oh, and that skinny trigger is gone now too. Replaced it with a standard Trigger-6 yesterday. What a relief!

Didn't see whether you have the Nitron or Desert finish. Here's a matched pair (M11 and MK-25) in the Piranha Mascus Green...Carry them both, no issues with the texture and really like the look. Probably my first and last Desert finishes, but like the variety!

My preference is actually the E2 grip, but of those you mentioned, my vote would be for the black checkered.

This is exactly my setup as well. Love those grips and love the color.

I have the black/grey checkered g-mascus on mine—I think they're great! I got them at Optics Planet for a great price with free shipping.
