P229 Combat magazine issue
I just picked up a gently used p229 combat off of gunbroker and I'm very excited to take it out shooting but i have a little problem. The gun shipped with two 15 round mags and neither one of them will fit all the way into the gun. They slide easily until about a half inch from being all the way seated and get very tight and stop. I called Sig and they said my pistol was manufactured Dec.2014 and that the 15 round mags are the right ones but im not so sure.
Anybody have any ideas what the problem could be? Any help would be great as this is my first Sig.

Ledhead26, welcome to the Forum, from the southwest corner of Indiana.
First, we need to see some pictures. #1 the magazines, side views with information visible. #2 Picture of the pistol with the slide locked back, with a view from the magazine well at the base of the grip upward, with the slide removed, and then from the top.

Ledhead26, a couple of questions.
#1 Does the magazine release operate "freely"?
#2 Does this have any "Custom Grips"?
Remove the grips, and try to seat the magazines, there is a remote chance that the grip screws are over tightened, and protrude into the magazine well.

Welcome to SIGTalk! We have a lot of friendly and helpful members here.
From your description, it kind of sounds like you may just be hitting the resistance of the magazine catch and you might be just a little bit skittish about using any force to lock the magazine in position?
Do the magazines have "P229-1" stamped on the side? If so, they are correct.

Well, after some quick picture research it looks as though they sent me p250/320 mags. Just got off the phone with the dealer and they are going to send the correct ones. Guess i have to wait even longer to try this baby out. Im excited after spending most of my shooting with the m&p line....thanks for the quick responses, i will post some updates once i actually get to pull the trigger on it.

Thanks guys, as soon as i looked up the various 15 round 9mm sig mags i could tell it was wrong just by the base plate let alone the holes for the mag release aren't even close to where they should be.

I'm new to this Forum.
I'm glad you have the 229 magazines figured out.
I have a New P229 Combat on layaway at my local dealer. The end of the Box gives a date of November 26, 2014.
The two fifteen rd. magazines fall freely.
