Does anyone know if I can put a Low Profile Decocker on my P224 SAS? I thought it was supposed to come with one, but it doesn't LOOK as low profile as what you're showing in your pics.

The low profile decocker was made for the p224 and reused in the Legend. So unless there is something very special about the SAS version, my guess is that it would fit. I have the low profile version now on all my Sigs (p224, p229, p229 Legion, p227).

Surprisingly the low profile slide stop fit on the p224 and p229, but not on the p227; it simply would not go down in the frame notch as it was a bit long. I could have either dremel'ed the low profile slide stop to fit in the frame, or dremel'ed the p227's original one whose tab stuck out too far for my thumb. I chose the latter as it did not touch the more important functional part that goes in the frame. It's interesting, and highlights the shape of the p227 frame, that the distance between the trigger pin and the slide stop notch is shorter than for either the p224 or p229. I don't have a p226, but since that one uses the low profile slide stop in the Legion, I am guessing that it is the same as the other classics, while the p227 has that very deep indent in the back strap allowing the hand to get higher and deeper into the gun handle while maintaining the overall dimensions of the p226.

This is what's on my P224 SAS. MY thought was it would come with the low profile decocker, but this doesn't look low profile to me. I could be wrong, what do you think?

What do you think? Low Profile? I owned a 228 16 years ago, but I can't remember what the decocker was like.

Thanks.

That is indeed the low profile decocker. The 'profile' part is a bit misleading: it's more about the size of the button and the space you are seeing from below still has to clear whatever grips you put on it.

I am not concerned but after several hundred rounds I am getting a weird wear on the "rails", but not where I see it on the p229, rather the side of the rails facing each other towards the dust cover. I am not sure what part of the slide touches that. It's similar to the 3rd picture down in this post: http://sigtalk.com/sig-sauer-pistols...rail-wear.html
It's on both sides, smooth and even, silver colored and basically on the inside corner.
Any ideas?
